P226

Are you referring to the LCI and magazine disconnect?
Yes, mine doesn't have that. The LCI just looks too ugly to me :(
Not to mention spending over a grand to have essentially a re-skin of the same gun. But it looks so cool and I have a 1911 Scorpion carry

Before YouTube started issuing the death sentence to anybody posting a how-to video regarding firearms, I watched a couple videos of how you could remove a pin on the locking block to eliminate the mag disconnect. I tried it but I swear to God that sucker is Sonic welded in there. If I were to try any harder I would actually damage the thing so I just left it

There are a lot of how to's though. I watched one for my M18

I thought they banned all videos regarding firearms. Like you couldn't even post a video on how to mount your optic. Do I have this wrong
Yes, I follow a lot of youtube gun channels. There are a million videos, reviews, how'to's

Assuming it's the same process as my 229 was, it's really not too difficult to remove. There's a few videos on youtube on how to remove it.

It’s notoriously easy if you know how . . .

In fact, you can completely disassemble the entire gun with nothing more than an empty case. No Glock Tool required:

Try to assemble it back, then compare it to any modern gun field stripping.

I don't see how. The 1911 is actually a pretty simple design, and is very easy to completely disassemble with minimal tools. Not quite Glock simple, but close, and certainly a lot easier than Sigs, HKs, or CZs. I guess it depends on the 1911, obviously if you're using a custom hand fit gun, replacing parts will require fitting more than likely, but that's why military 1911s were made to tolerances that allowed parts interchangability.
We talk field servicing, aka field stripping and reassembling. I can rest assure you any modern gun wins with flying colors.

Lol, I wouldn't even say so. The 1911 is not at all difficult to field strip, simply a different method of doing so. People have just gotten so lazy that all they can do is pull a trigger and a tab to take a gun apart. It takes an extra 10 seconds to field strip a 1911, and it ain't like I'm going to be field stripping my gun for a cleaning in the middle of a firefight, so it makes zero difference. If that's too hard for you, well that's what they make Glocks for.

I thought they are both easy. The 1911 is a little more involved but not by much. After not shooting my 1911 for 8 years I had to look it up again

I'd say it's quite easy. I was able to do it when I was 13 years old, so I'd hope it isn't that difficult for a grown man, lol. People have just gotten lazy/soft today.

P226 9mmm models, Specifically MK25 are a Top 10 Pistol of all time for sure, just like a Beretta 92FS/M9, but neither of these is the best.

I would put a contract 1911 .45 and Browning Hi Power 9mm as more historically relevant and longer continuous production run with multiple “Clones” available.

If we are talking field stripping than not really, just different manual of arms/dissembly; but all rather easy.

Now, if we’re talking a complete dissembly down to every little part, something like a Glock is super easy; but again a 1911 is not very hard to learn either.

I find the Sig P320 more involved for a complete tear down than a 1911 for example.

You absolutely can't compare 1911 field stripping to Glock or Sig. 1911 has too many moving parts and does require more time. Thus any modern platform beats with flying colors. Full disassembly is a gunsmith thing. It's irrelevant to your day-to-day use.

Id like one of these
