P385

So it’s a p365 FCU in a p320 size and takes p320 mags?
I'd heard they supposedly started with a P365 FCU (which sounds like a good idea to me)
But in the limited images of the P385 FCU (mostly the exploded view animation on the Sig product page which is hard to get a good view of, it's only a few frames in their short promo video) it doesn't seem very similar to either the P365 or P320
I guess that's not inherently a bad thing?

I'm safely cautious but surprisingly optimistic.
I have a P365, and I like it for CC, but Sig's responses to the whole P320 debacle does sour their name in my mouth quite a bit.. so we'll see...

I was aware of the actual pieced comp like the GTO, was asking if the "comp" model is actual porting of the barrel and slide or the same gimmick as the X Macro and just a shorter barrel with ported slide

Comp and Marco have 4" barrels; full size spec's a 4.7" barrel. So, Marco is the same as any of the existing marco comp versions - integrated slide to extend the barrel.

Yeah I just checked Sig's website. Sad it's not an actual ported barrel. The "ports" in the slide would be much more effective if the barrel was ported as well

might need its own thread, but it looks like they also launched the SIG P226X Agency at Next too.

Where I get potentially excited about the P385 is calibers than 9 mm and potential for metal frames. A .45 ACP striker where I can buy an aftermarket steel from (ideally from Mischief Machines like they provide for the P365) would be a huge thing for me. I know .40 and .357 Sig are no longer popular but if they had a .40 cal barrel and mags that supported 10 mm, .40 Cal, and .357 would be very nice for those who want something different. For carry, I’m totally fine with my P365 with a polymer frame. For self defense classes or competition, I’d like a metal frame to soak up some of the recoil now that I’m getting older. I recall when I was in my late 30s talking to some well known firearms enthusiasts shooting day 1 .45 ACP and then switching to 9 mm on day 2 and beyond. I asked about it and they said they didn’t want to beat up their hands. In my 30s, I didn’t fully understand that but now in my late 50s (closer to they age they were) I do.

So... you're Sig Sour?

Sig's website says the comp is attached to a 3.4" barrel but from the photos is looks like it's attached to a 4" barrel. The gun looks too long for something with a 4" OAL barrel whereas 4.5" looks about right

I would grab a cz97, the steel grip modules from MM are like 900 dollars if/when they make it
