P385

It sounds so extreme that it seems like there would be a good chance the law could be blocked but there are plenty of unconstitutional gun laws that CA is allowed to enforce. Maybe a recent SCOTUS ruling will invalidate it?
Yeah, there are still some big unknowns before 2028. DOJ already determined in 2025 that microstamping is technologically viable. The law required DOJ, by July 1st of this year to provide grants or enter into contracts with licensed microstamping producers to help make compliant components available at a reasonable cost. I can't find anything from DOJ saying who received those grants/contracts or even confirming that step was completed.

The really important checkpoint is July 1, 2027. DOJ has to determine whether compliant components are available at “commercially reasonable prices” and/or whether microstamping-enabled guns are readily available in CA. If DOJ can't make either finding, the 2028 requirement doesn't kick in. And “commercially reasonable prices” isn't actually defined in the law. There's no $ amount, % of the gun's price, or other objective standard spelled out so DOJ has considerable discretion in making that determination.

Agreed something this sweeping seems ripe for another court challenge, especially considering Boland and the litigation over the previous microstamping requirement. But filing a challenge doesn't stop the presses. Unless a court actually issues an injunction blocking enforcement, the state can move ahead while the case crawls its way through the courts. Shocker.

Recent SCOTUS 2A decisions may ultimately strengthen a challenge, but they don't automatically invalidate this law either. I'd take the 2028 date seriously, but I wouldn't call it a done deal yet. 😒

It’s because Sig is a terrible organization
It’s funny how our individual reactions with them can shape our perception. I’ve been using Sig firearms for close to 20 years starting with the classic DA SA pistols. I’ve sent them in a few times at 5,000 round intervals for a service to make sure all is good with them. Excellent fast service. I had one order recently that took a little longer than normal and the customer service rep provided me with a free extra 10 round mag for my troubles. Thoughtful. Additionally, the P365 pistols I’ve purchased have all worked exceptionally well. Come to think of it, most gun manufacturers I’ve dealt with going back to the 1990s have all had good customer service.

Hence my solution to buy what I might want so that I don’t need to buy ever again. I actually did this back in 2010s. Decided to consolidate down to just Sigs and Glocks and sold a bunch of other pistols. I decided if at some point, CA decided to somehow ban the ability to purchase any pistols, what would be the prefect pistol for me to own. It was a Glock 30SF - 10 rounds of .45 ACP (so no CA magazine issue) in the size of a G19. I considered it the perfect firearm. However, as I’ve gotten older, I’ve started developing arthritis in my hands. Hasn’t impacted my shooting yet. It has made me decide I should get more 9 mm pistols and so I have. As long as what we own stays grandfathered I will be ok no matter what. I try very hard not to chase trends in firearms as that for most things is just marketing hype. Do you really need a 6.5 creedmore if you own either a .308 or .30-06 for such a small difference in performance? Same goes for pistols, shotguns, etc. Just need to balance how much you spend on firearms relative to other things such as 401K, vacations, home maintenance, etc.

Just the worst. Think if you were a biz, would you just admit fault and essentially roll up in a ball and go out of business. Or would you listen to your attorney’s, revert back to court cases and continue trudging along learning from mistakes. lol everyone says “I don’t like how they handled it”.
How TF would ANY company handle it, smartly? Or bow down to the haters who can’t replicate such a “widespread” problem? They second they bake you your cake and issue an apology, it’s game over whether it’s humans effing up or not.
Just look, Glock recovered
You don’t have to reward them with your business. Sig should be paying you to beta test their new handguns, not the other way around.

Also Glock never had a fatal design flaw and then lied about it.
What is the fatal flaw exactly? Outselling Glock? Better trigger? LOL

How come he's not saying that about the current fatal flaw lawsuit against Glock? Pesky facts again

Just the hundreds of “uncommanded discharges”

But sure the trigger is better 😂😂

Like the thousands of Glock "uncommanded discharges"? You made the claim the P320 has a fatal flaw, yet failed to name the flaw in the gun. Weak

You see this is why the gun community has issues IMO, ego and obsessive brand loyalists so easily 💩 ing on each other and 2A products because what, Sig didn’t issue you a personal apology and bake you a cupcake?
The brand loyalists are hilarious. like above

Sig has listed 2 models as CA compliant. If I was interested in P385 that would be these two. Although with legolike modularity it doesn't really matter. Let's see how long will it take for sig to get them on roster
