Big security update went out today... Our systems were updated in the morning. It's a different world these days..

Was just reading about it, pretty crazy how fast it all went down.
This is the most urgency I've seen for a CVE in a long time, so we patched right when it came out.. So important to run the latest..

9.2…

There might be more of this kind of bug coming... PHP is a very fragile language!
This happens with every popular system. Linux is also updated constantly. PHP just has large exposure because it’s very popular and easy to use and been around so for so long. It’s just like PERL from back in the day. Then it’ll be python. Then you have windows.

This just proves why it’s important to stay up to date. Unironically, this is why this site is around to begin with. A PHP update jacked up the system, corrupted the database. There’s no perfect software that never needs to be updated. That’s what’s paying my bills for my entire career. It’s just happening faster now with AI. So we use AI to fix as fast as AI can find it. I took the opportunity to migrate another layer of our infrastructure to AI managed. Since these machines can do it faster than I can, and my scripts can be improved, it’s now significantly faster and more repeatable.

Let’s just hope our colleagues on the other side pay attention to it and update; otherwise, more compromises likely to happen.
