Poll: Porting is Pointless

Porting will not make you a better shooter, but it can help with faster follow up shots; but only if you are doing your part.

I've gone back and forth with identical other than comp Buckmarks to try and figure out which is better and can't for the life of me figure out why someone would ever use one on a 22lr. But, if folks want to spend their money on something I support that completely.

I guess if you're trying to go as fast as possible every perceived performance boost is worth it?

For me, I don't need ports or comps, I still shoot low and left.

Well a great test (sarcasm ) would be to try putting a comp on upside down and timed to 7 o’clock .

I like ports, butvalso believe they don't make you a better shooter.

It's not the most scientific, but here's a good video testing porting by comparing a Python and a ported Python (Grizzly) with a few different types of ammo.
On this particular firearm, the ports might help very slightly.

I thought it was kind of silly 20 years ago. Now they call them ram jets. Seems unnecessary to me but I’m not in my late 50s so no one cares what I think.
