Push/Pull or Hulk Smash?

Which grip do you use and why?

I just changed from the Hulk Smash grip to Push/Pull. My wrists lock in better and my dot travels in a straighter vertical line. Seems easier to get back on target.
Always try til you find what works for you.. true test is doubles and bill drills... Both work until they don't ( break down in speed or pressure ).

I'm currently doing more of a push pull, wrists locked, trying not to fight the gun but keep a consistent return to zero.

Like MSP said my kung fu is not your kung fu. For me its locked wrist, smooth trigger pull to the rear and elbows slightly bent. I'm not pushing my thumbs forward or weapons hand applying forward/reward pressure with support hand squeezing left to right. My RDS travels in a near vertical smear of a line and I reengage when the smear covers my target for the second time. If you watch Lena Miculek shoot shes a very small framed light weight woman, yet her split times/accuracy has won her world titles. It's not about strength, but more on technique and skill.

What I have found is if you have a grip that fits you you don't have to death grip and you can apply pressure where it counts and have less tension. Everyone has their own technique to a degree but we can all agree that too much tension is bad, you can watch Hunter Constantine for example, he's a "death gripper" and he's constantly getting trigger freeze. I am still mediocre as F- but shooting with less tension has really helped me this year.

I developed shooter's elbow on my left elbow because of my hulk smash grip. I am wearing a brace now for it and I think I need to find another grip technique in the meantime.

I've had various forms of elbow tendonitis for the past 15 years, I think it's just part of getting older I found that it doesn't really go away you just work around it.

There's workouts you can do that help. I've also been looking at software therapy, but that is costly.
I've literally done it all from "resting" to the rod that you twist and all that. Ive found it best to just stay active and if a movement tweaks it just don't do that again. Shooting does kind of exacerbate it for me but not directly, i.just notice after a long weekend through the week. Honestly I think just keeping moving us the best, I still bench press and do curls every week I just modify it a bit if I feel pain.

Push pull never really worked for me. For a long time I did light pressure with the right hand and lots of pressure with the left, but lately I have been having good results with tightening up the right hand too. With the heavy steel guns (44+ oz) you can be lazy and it doesn’t matter as much, but cranking down on both hands really helps with lighter guns
