Question re: S&W Model 41 from a friend in HI to CA

[davidj]

I just had a quick phone call with Rob of RMB. He answered my call so I assume the office is now open. Unfortunately, they don't have their FFL license just yet and I was told to check on him again next week.

But he confirmed that my buddy can directly send him the pistol, no need Hawaii FFL services ...so were golden! 1-Benjamin saving right there!

Called UG Imports also but they're close till Thursday.

I just checked SMG website, it says they are only shipping to lower 48 states currently. Only shipping option for you is thru a FFl.

I have used SMG several times, it just has to be dropped off at the shipping terminal. You can go to that website and type in the info for a price. You also should ask about transfer fees that the FFL charges, Rob has the lowest price in the immediate bay area, $80, one FFL in Brentwood is the lowest for the entire area. I also believe that UGI will not accept from a private individual-has to come from a FFL.

Edit: jr just made a separate post 5 minutes after I made this post that they have received the hard copy of the FFL. It sounds like they are open now?

that's good news! thanks for the heads up davidj. will call them up now!

Yes, indeed, RMB Enterprises is officially in business! I just talked to Rob and was told he already got his FFL approval.

He's emailing me info needed to start the transfer!

Finally!

For future reference - we are one of the few FFLs that will accept from private individuals. We recommend the shipping party use shipmygun.com since we're listed with that service and it makes it more cost efficient/easier for them.
