You know what, I really thought of learning and doing it myself, if you say it’s fairly easy that’s all the motivation I need. I’m gonna study it and check out the tools I’ll be needing. Thank You Sir

t's definitely not bad, the hardest part is getting the old barrel off but that really depends who put it on in the first place.

You can do it! When I swap out my barrels I like to remove my scope and trigger. I’m sure there are plenty of videos on YouTube that you can check out.

The tools needed to do 1 barrel swap will easily cost 3x-5x or maybe more of what I charge to do a single barrel swap.
So if he plans to do this 5 times or more with the same chambering, it's probably worth getting the tools.
Headspace gauges alone for each different cartridge cost more than I charge for the whole job.

I charge $65 to swap barrels if someone brings me the barrelled action and bolt without the stock or scope base.
What you won't see listed is the value of having someone with 30+ years experience doing the work.
Buying some tools and watching a video online won't help you much when you run into a factory installed barrel that won't come apart without putting the barrel vise into a shop press when you don't have a shop press.

Changing a prefit to.another prefit is easy, taking off a tikka or howa barrel is probably worth bringing in. But 65 bucks is well worth it either way that's not bad at all
