Recommended mode of carry/holster/any other details for fat guys

I have a shoulder holster and the problem with that is you have to wear some kind of a jacket / wind beaker to conceal the weapon, in the CA heat, especially for a husky guy I would image that would be uncomfortable. I'm a big but not husky guy and I find wearing a jacket, 6 months out of the year in SoCal is pretty darn uncomfortable.

My buddy is a big guy, and he uses shoulder holster. During the hot days, he wears a one-size larger 'fishing shirt' (see link below.)

These fishing shirts are designed to wear in hot weather for UV protection, quick dry, and very comfortable. I have a couple myself, and I sometimes carry 3 o'clock OWB wearing them.

Can't do that. I worked hard on doctors orders to loose weight. I was pre diabetic and had high cholesterol. Now I'm healthy at my high school weight of 150 lbs.

I made it a goal to outlive all my friends. So far it's working. I sure don't miss hauling an extra backpack of fat where ever I go. I'm light on my feet.

I suppose the fanny pack is a thin man's option.

I don't know maybe it is just me anytime I see a waist bag, fanny pack I think gun. It could just be the fact that I am into guns. Only the Shadow Knows.

We've said before- fanny pack screams wallet, gun, cell phone, other valuables. The waist band strap is easily cut with any knife- at the risk of cutting you while they are at it. Sounds like a party?

I found the Trex-arms sidecar holster in the 4 o’clock position the most comfortable as well as an Eclipse Holsters magazine pouch on the other side. I also wear tall Carhartt heavy duty pocket t-shirts as they are long enough for my tall frame with an a-shirt (wife beater) tucked in under the Carhartt.

I'm 6'2" and weigh 235. I don't exactly have a huge gut, but I'm no model either. My primary carry is a G29 at 3 or 4 o'clock IWB. Just get a decently long shirt, and more importantly, a good carry belt that won't let your gun work its way down as you're walking and moving around. Something with an "FBI" cant also helps with drawing from that position and helps reduce printing as well.

Similar. What bugs me is if the gun is too far aft- the grip wears the seat upholstery. Too far forward- the seat belt pulls it into you. You can find a sweet spot that's great, right up to the moment your ass wants a different position.

Lol. I'm always freaking out about the seat upholstery too lol. Especially since I just got a new car as well. I loosen my belt (pants/carry belt) and slide the gun a little forward when I'm going to be sitting in the car. I just need to remember to tighten my belt before I get out of the car so my pants don't slide down. I use use a Kore ratchet belt, so fortunately it's pretty quick and easy to do.
