Feedback Request A Rating

A few times I’ve rated people and not received ratings back. We should be able to request a rating from people we did business with.

Could be tied to the rating we give and it is a tap functionality that takes them directly to page to rate.
I'm still working on it... I'm juggling a lot of things, but this has never left my mind.

Some things I already have planned:
  • Add more badges
  • Try to find an incentive for leaving feedback. We give free a free feedback badge.
  • Automated listing removal after a period of time
  • Remove User Name from sold listing after sold. - partially implemented
I have some things, but there's just a lot. We're in it for the long haul, but I also want this place to be more than the classifieds. I've spent most of my time with outreach since in the past, traffic was an issue. It's just priorities, the more i think about it, I try to balance the entire sites content. I appreciate the feedback though and thanks for the support.

I think the biggest thing is on GAFS there's no record for it.. People can make up ratings, when we didn't review ratings, people would just leave ratings for friends without any listings. We have tags here, but people don't like the fact that the listing stays.

That's next up on the list to remove the listing in feedback over time...
Remove the listing, feedback, or who bought what from who?

The listings themselves will be removed over time. They take up space and are no longer relevant price wise so they’ll be removed for privacy and data retention limits. It’s better to have a standard policy and automated system in place to do this.

Good deal, personally I would love them to go poof the second both parties are happy. I understand the staff feels different, your house, your rules.

Just my opinion, but if you're the seller as soon as you get paid you should be required to leave feedback. The buyer shouldn't have to wait to receive the product, post positive feedback for the seller, and hope that they do the same. Upon transferring the funds to them your obligation is a buyer has been met and should and positive feedback should be given. In fact there should be a system where if you leave feedback for somebody and they don't do the same that they somehow get dinged

We'll eventually spend more time on this... I don't think a seller should get dinged though.. I think there's a valid reason why they would not want to. We'll try to fix those outstanding issues first to make it more anonymous from other peoples perspective but viewable by you and staff.

I would also incentivize it in a different way, the bigger we grow though the more relevant it becomes. Even with GAFS, that only worked out because they had years of history to start with.. We're definitely on our way and have a balanced community site.

I feel like they don't get the rating til they give the rating, perhaps they should be notified that a rating is waiting for them to resiprocate.

Agreed. Plus there’s the awkwardness of the fact that currently you can still see who sold something by just checking the picture on the ad and it still shows the username of the seller.

The problem I see with “immediately” is there have been times where the buyer has had paperwork issues (sometimes their fault, sometimes not) that means we have to either cancel the transaction and I have to go back and pick the thing up and wait for them to resolve the issue, REDROS it, or just find another buyer altogether.

More like once the listing has been moved into “pending funds” or something - which is usually what I mark things as after the sale but before confirmation their 10 days are up, both buyer and seller are prompted to leave feedback that is reviewed and published once the listing is marked as sold or after 10 days have passed or some set window of time. During the time it’s pending either party can rescind or edit their feedback in case something changes?
