Roof cargo basket for a car/suv

So I have roof bars on my rig. I’ve previously had a Thule cargo box on a car, still have it in my garage and can use it when needed. I’d like to throw a roof basket on my rig. Thule and Yakima are both great brands but are around $450 for a basket.

Anyone on here have experience with a lesser or off brand basket online and find it to be good?

I have a Curt and it’s been fine. The only issue I’ve had is when I got a new suv the Curt brackets would not work with my factory rails due to them being so thin. I ended up making my own.

I have an off brand slim basket. The brand is Avenn

Works fine. Been on the roof of my car for over five years. Have carried all types of things light and heavy large and small.

Don’t think too hard about it tbh it’s just a metal basket

Whatever you go with, I highly recommend E-trailer, their customer service, returns, and parts replacement is unmatched.

Curt is a decent 2nd tier brand. My hitch basket is a Curt, and I just bought a 2nd one since the previous one saved my wife's Cherokee from being totaled when it took the brunt force of the car that hit us from behind.
