agree on DoJ and how do you call it “scoddlebud” (pardon misspelling)… where I was disagreeing with you, not reason to make it personal, specifically when we do not have a full story. Scott put so much time, energy and passion into the business and got burned by human factors too many times to give us more and to jeopardize the business.

I don’t think anyone is disputing that Scott has put a lot of time, energy, and passion into his business. That’s just not really relevant to the criticism being made here.

The issue is how preliminary information is communicated. If a manufacturer tells a dealer they’re trying to get something rostered, that’s useful information. But “they’re trying,” “we expect approval soon,” and “this product is confirmed, will release soon, preorders are opening now" are three different claims with very different levels of certainty; especially when such a product announcement is not Scott's to make (like the CC9).

That’s why the Glock thread keeps being brought up. A claim like “Glock is trying to get something rostered” turned out to have substance behind it. The FOIA request actually showed that. But that still isn’t the same claim as California compliant Gen 6 is being released this year. It's also kind of weird that R66 creates these threads with big claims and then disappears. When a prediction doesn’t materialize, I’d rather hear “here’s what changed” than immediately move on to the next prediction. That’s not personal and it doesn’t require anyone to dislike Scott. It’s just basic accountability, especially when people may base purchasing decisions off this information.

Ironically, the other FFL posting in this thread demonstrated exactly what I’m talking about: he shared what dealers were being told, explained that something changed Wednesday, preserved the uncertainty, and didn’t identify the manufacturer because he didn’t want to jeopardize his supplier relationship.

That IS a valid point and communication could be better… but by no-means we should “encourage” to stop information flow. I’ve seen too many times people placing the order or putting to deposit and finding a “week” later that better option becomes available.
