Just curious how the 100 yard range would be, like if I wanted to zero rifles then head to the private range after or is it during weekdays, rifle range then steel gallery or Private bay then steel gallery is allowed? I've gone before but always gone private bay and if I have time I would head to steel gallery if permitted.

I've done Private Bay then steel gallery after and vice versa (like when I was early for my Private Bay time so I had time to kill). I haven't tried doing 100yd then Private Bay.

Steel case ammo should not be a concern unless it sparks when hitting the floor. Never heard if that happening.

Other ranges make it simple, they use a magnet on the bullets. If it sticks, no go. If not, blast away.

dang that's still broken..... that's been broken for a while. Please fix this.

this! last session we were hurried out by another party right on the dot when there were tons of empty bays available still. this after a 1.5 hr drive there on an uncrowded weekday. after setup and takedown there's just not that much time left for running drills etc. otherwise, best range in socal by far.

Ya they're odd about bay assignments. I went with a group of 6 last time I was there. They assigned us a bay, but when we got there the people they had given a smaller bay to had moved over to the bigger bay. They then told us that since the other party was already set up we could either take the small bay or wait 2 hours.

Also only some bays allow steel targets for some reason, not all of them.

rushed out again past session. love the range but driving 2+ hours to only be able to shoot a max of 90 mins after setup and takedown (which is rushed as well). wish they would allow an extra hour. heck, even an extra 30 mins. seems like the next party always shows up 30 mins before our time is up and sit in their car in front of the bay to try to rush us out even more.

Was there a few weeks ago on a Tuesday. 2 of us on a private bay. No rush. Everyone was really nice. The RO met us at the bay just to go over rules. Let us know that it was a slow day and we didn’t need to rush.

I think timing makes a difference. I usually go on Friday afternoons, check in around 2:30 to 3pm. Unless it's before a holiday weekend, those are normally slow days and I don't feel rushed at all to get out. Since no one is booked after me, I can take my time.

ya i've had some days when I wasn't rushed out on the weekdays. I have also been rushed out on an empty weekday as well so there is no guarantee. If they had like a 30 min grace period for set-up/takedown that would allow a better pace, especially with bigger groups. RO's and staff are A+ though. Very courteous and professional. Still the best range in socal IMHO.

+1 on the staff and instructors. I have taken all of their pistol courses, including the dynamic course - the one with RC robot chasing after you lol (which I understand is no longer offered). The value is strong for the level of knowledge and instruction provided, particularly if the class group is able to keep pace.

Wish they would offer more carbine courses although it's probably because the demand isn't as high?
