AR9mm's are great. But there can be some downsides, especially when building your own. Not all different brand 9mm BCG's work well with all lowers, uppers, or magwell adapters. Some only work with their proprietary upper/lower/bcg, and you need to read up on that before buying anything.

You will also likely need to tune the ejector to make it function properlyl. This can be something as simple as adjusting it with set screws, or using a file to grind it down until it cycles and ejects properly. Last is finding the proper buffer weight that works best with your build. Lots of people have their opinions on all of those parts and what works best and it can be all over the place. If you enjoy that sort of a project, when by all means do it. If you don't want lots of headaches and trips to the range to get your gun running correctly, then buy a complete one already built as the manufacturer has already figured all those thing out.
 
Ruger PCC or you’re going to want to buy a complete AR9. Building them can be troublesome.
