If you carry without a license you go to jail/prison, but if you're a high level law enforcement officer you get a slap on the wrist and community service for bribery and scamming citizens regarding said licenses.

CA loves its police corruption.

As a result of a plea agreement in which Sung admitted guilt to two separate felony bribery solicitation counts, Sung will surrender his state law enforcement license, and serve 400 hours of community service and two years of probation. Deputy District Attorney John Chase also moved to dismiss a connected charge against defendant Harpreet Chadha, a businessman accused of taking part in the scheme.


Once Sung completes his community service and probation terms, he will be allowed to petition to reduce the felonies to misdemeanors, and then seek expungement, or retroactive dismissal, of the charges.

First off, his fault for whatever suffering he brought on his family, not those pursuing justice.

Second, I feel those in positions of power should be held to a higher standard, not a lesser one. This guy was essentially running an extortion racket from the sheriff’s office and was punished like he was a first time shoplifter. He deserved the book thrown at him for years of corruption and bribery.

That's wild I always heard rumors about this but no one in power ever gets in trouble. He still barely got in trouble, what about his police pension? That would be the real punishment
