Like many gun clubs, the WCGC suffers from the typical management issues. It’s open weekends from 0900-1530 to the public. It’s a beautiful site, with terrific views of the Santa Ynez Valley to the north. It features a 200 yd rifle range, a 100 yd rifle range, 50 yard pistol range, and on the shotgun side 3 traps, and a skeet range. As a fully outdoor range, they are weather dependent, however the rifle and pistols ranges are both covered from the weather. It’s at 3000’ in elevation so always bring a jacket. Ammunition is also sold should you need it—from pistol to rifle to shotgun ammo. Priced competitively. The road to access it can be a bit of a challenge. West Camino Cielo is poorly maintained, and accessed west from route 154 (San Marcos Pass road). There is shotgun league shooting on Wednesdays. They longer 200 yd rifle range can be difficult to access as that area is often reserved for SWAT practice or or other instruction. Holster drawing is prohibited for safety.
