If someone has already brought this up I apologize, but I'm confused as to why we are required to input FFL information for barrel sales when that part of SB-704 doesn't go into effect until July 1, 2027?

The way the law is written, all barrel sales/transfers have to go through an FFL, that part was enacted jan 1. Then, July 2027 there needs to be background checks.

So are FFL's charging fees to receive barrel shipments then to verify age and hand it over?

Yes but it is up to the FFL, I have one near me that charges 25 bucks per package ( so can be a bunch of stuff) and another that is charging 50. Some aren't doing it at all or charging so much you wouldn't want to

Dirty Bird is charging $40 for receiving barrels. Not sure if they’re charging anything for ppt.
