Selling something thats on ccw permit

If I plan to sell anything thats on my permit. Do I need to remove off there first or can I sell it then do paperwork to remove from permit?

I was debating on selling some stuff off but didnt want to remove it from permit in case I change my mind or if it doesn't sell. I presume it needs to be off my permit first?

For my IA, it can be sold and would just be taken off at the next renewal. The way it was explained is that the permit doesn't list what you currently own, just what you're legally allowed to carry. Obviously, this isn't legal advice, and your IA may have a different policy, but that's what I was told

Pretty much what the other guy said. I sold mine, then requested to change firearms on my permit

Just sell it. Doesn't matter if it’s on your license or not at that point. The license is just what you’re qualified to carry not a record of ownership or sale.

In my county, you can sell a firearm and leave it on permit no problem, but verify with your own Issuing Authority.

My IA has a "max 2 changes in 2 years" policy for permits. I had already done a move that gave me a new card, and later on requested a firearm be removed that i had sold . This removal did not result in a new card, but the sheriffs online system counted it as a "change" anyway. So, when i went to add firearms later, the system had me marked as already having 2 changes and requiring I wait till renewal. They did eventually let me add firearms and reveresed the firearm-removal as being a "change", but it required a long email thread, a phone call with the sheriffs office, and an administrator/supervisor to make changes to my account.

I believe they have modified their system now to account for this, but if your IA doesnt require removal, there is no positive benefit to giving more info to the police than required and you can just wait till your renewal

Consult with your IA. Find out if they'll allow you to change the guns independent of renewal. If not, you won't be able to carry at all if you sell the guns.

I currently only own two of the three guns on my permit. I’m going to add a replacement at some point in the near future. But if you have any doubts, just call your IA and ask.
