Shadow Systems DR920P + Glock 17 Gen 3 Slide – Why Though?

So I threw a Glock 17 Gen 3 slide onto a Shadow Systems DR920P frame just to see if it would run.

Short answer: It works.

Long answer: It’s weird… but kind of cool.

Why do it?

• Glock Gen 3 slide reliability
• Modern ergonomics on the Shadow frame
• Better grip texture • Interchangeable backstraps
• No finger grooves
• Magwell included It feels slightly stiffer in recoil compared to a Glock 17 — possibly due to polymer rigidity differences — but nothing dramatic.

Only ran about 100 rounds because I was fighting with a dovetail optic mount.

Would I recommend it? Not necessarily. Would I do it again? Probably
