Sig Launches the P385 (possibly to replace the P320 system). Any interest?

To be fair, the only model with major issues to my knowledge has been the P320, and some portion of those issues were of course armorer/gunsmith and user error, though since the P320 was a kind of kluged P250 in essence, it has real issues with it's safety designs (striker safety and it's manual safety when so equipped), which seemingly have been corrected in the P385.

So, assuming it's manufactured to factory tolerances with quality parts, it should be a reliable and safe model and another hot seller for Sig.

I don’t think reliability is at issue here. The facts are we have multiple shots going off, on camera, with minimal / no contact to the gun. Could it be an issue with the booster/pistol interface - certainly. Is there some user error involved - I’m sure some is. However I’ve worked with Glocks for over 30 years as an armorer, a user, and an instructor. I have NEVER seen one go off in the holster. I’ve seen them go off for other reasons, yes. But not in a holster.

The P320 was kind of revolutionary with its modularity, and there are many who love them and trust them with their life. I don‘t fault them at all. But I am looking forward to this new design - even if it is for just my piece of mind.

A good amount of 365 fall apart at about 2k rounds. How many people out there have more than a few hundred rounds on the ones they own

Glock ND's are so famous they got the term "Glock leg". A P320 post drop safety has never gone off without a trigger squeeze. It's just comical to try and say otherwise - there's no proof and never has been. Yes there are a million cops and servicemembers that use the P320 every single day.

There's so much money on the table if anyone could make a P320 shoot without a trigger press, they would have done it and become rich. Yet magically, not even one person has been able to do so.

Yes, Glock leg is a thing, but so was the issue with the P320...to say there wasn't feels like we're ignoring the dozens of videos out there. I mean this will all respect. Maybe the design is just too light a trigger press, maybe it just needed a trigger safety / dingus.

All I can say is from my experience on the range, I never saw the gun go off in the holster with a Glock, nor even a P320 to be fair. I saw the recent post with the post with the guy whp shot his nut off, as well as the one from a guy who shot himself with a G43. (There is a reason I gravitate towards hammer fired guns these days...).

Glock's are not "perfection" (insert pearl grasping...), but my experience with them has been good. Can they ND, 100%, but I've never seen it in a duty holster, and the only ones I've heard of were doing the re-holster or adjusting the holster. But I was working as a cop during the era of the Glock Leg, it was extremely rare and never saw it here..

I would wonder if we have asked for these light, crisp triggers on striker fired guns and we are living with those consequences. (Again, hammer fired guns might be a better solution...)

Sig makes amazing guns (P22X and the like). The P365 is nice and a good design, but it has had some minor issues with the trigger return bar spring.) I don't mean to throw shade on Sig, and maybe their response to it made the percieived situation worse. I am very thankful for this updated design.

7k and 4k on my training ones. 1k on my carry pistol. No issues whatsoever.

That's great to hear. I'm wondering if the return spring breakage was from a bad batch.

I have one that has a good 4K in rounds with zero issues. Define "fall apart"? That sounds catastrophic and thats not anything I've heard about these guns.

A spring perhaps and Ive heard of trigger bars jamming but in every context Ive seen thats been where its been stripped and put together wrong to cause the failure.

My P365 with Sectre Comp slide has around 1500 rounds plus 500 manual break-in cycles, perfect so far, though Sig recommends trigger return spring replacement at 2500 - 3000 rounds, and it's a $5 part.

I think Sig addressed the P320's issues with the P385, and it should be a good seller.

Yes, I saw Carry Trainer they were a regular breaking point, so he carries them with him when he teaches classes. I got the ISMI +10% ones for mine when I has it. It's a minor part that is just a replaceable part and should be a scheduled replacement anyway. The more I think about the 365 I have to acknowledge how solid they are overall. I also am really looking forward to the P385. To give Sig their due, no one is innovating like them.
