Sig P385 rumored to replace the P320 system. Any intel out there?

Huh kinda like people pulling the trigger and lying about it or using improper holsters/techniques

Who woulda thunk it - didn't think my comment needed a /s lol
Regarding the 92, Beretta made multiple changes to the gun to make it more reliable and tougher. Hm..... who else did that....
Which is why the 92 has become my favorite platform.

It would make sense for it not to take 320 parts to a certain extent. If this is a rebranding attempt, they would want to move away from the 320 drama. The second there is an issue people would blame it on the 320 parts installed on a pistol. Short of mag compatibility, I think it would be wise to just move on parts wise.
Yeah. I agree that it’s a practical move by SIG - along with keeping P320 mag compatibility - but I still don’t like it.

if they want to maintain market dominance there is no logical reason to fight for the p320 when they can simply replace it with something newer and shinier. They have done the work to prove their system. But public opinion is public opinion. It’s nearly impossible to transform when it’s rooted in fear or lack of trust.

They are moving on.
Yesh. It’s unfortunate but I have to agree with this.

Shooting my P320 this past week and nothing has been able to replace it.

It makes you really appreciate the 1911 all that much more. Over 100 years with some small modifications. Slap a rail on it and got another solid decade of service, and then the evolution of the 2011.

Don't trust Beretta either then I'm guessing? 92 series sure had serious issues when it came out.... idk if we can trust them
Fixing something publicly and saying “hey this is what was broke” vs what ever the F- Sig is doing. I know you all have a smaller sample size, but:
MPX and rolling “generations” that break aftermarket, are not marked, and “don’t fix anything”
P365 firing pin issues for the first few years that just got “updated” not fixed.
P320, well F- here we are.

I love old Sig I think the 55* is one of the best AR’s ever made, F- the 522 is an amazing plinker that feels not like the airsoft 💩 we get now. Just grabbed a p220 because they are an amazing pistol. Carry/carried a recent p365 and like it a lot. Sig gave us pistol braces, Sig tried to sell a pcc with a 5ish in barrel and 11ish inch “muzzle break” that you could form one a threaded tube and bam super suppressed pcc, one tax stamp at the time faster and easier. I can go on and on. Cohen is the problem with Sig, I do not trust new 💩 they release.

Beretta, love them been in the game longer than anyone else. They have put some serious turds out too. I just don’t see them gas lighting people.

The widely publicized issues with the 92 were related to the ammunition being fired, not the weapon itself. The slides that fractured were subjected to high volumes of near proof +p+ ammunition designed for sub machine guns. No pistol is going to hold up to that.
And my issued mags where F-ing dog 💩. Used my personal beretta and mecgar mags ran like a top. She didn’t have much Finnish left and was loose but she always ran.

Try some higher end hammer fired stuff.
I have a Shadow 2 and a Prodigy with upgrades. They’re great! But I generally prefer the simplicity of striker-fired pistols.

On my wishlist is an Atlas Artemis, P211 (reserved), SP-01 Tactical, Shadow 2 Carry, P226 X Legion

I’m a sucker for configurability and modularity where the P320 was/is king.

Currently, I have one of them configured with an SXG grip module Gray Guns tabbed trigger and Lockwood slide which has a match, gunsmith fit bull barrel and an awesome lockup.

I like my M&P but it still doesn’t beat my P320’s.

Whatever replaces it, if anything replaces it, I'm betting it has a Glock syle trigger safety. When the P320/M17/M18 was submitted for the military trials, Glocks patent on their trigger safety hadn't yet expired.

I wonder how it would bode for Sig considering the constant lawsuits. If they basically re-brand the 320 and add a trigger safety, it would almost be like admitting or acknowledging that there was an issue with their initial design, especially if they discontinue the 320 altogether.

Gotta make that the P226 X5 Legion, that thing is more fun than some high end 2011s.

Not necessarily. They could still say something to the effect of "we're adding in additional safety for folks who don't know how to keep their fingers, garments or other items off the trigger".

FWIW the Gray Guns tabbed trigger is pretty nice.
