Video Sig Sauer P320 Controversy

I hear you...but Ive been on this earth for 50+ years and just got a ccw 1 year ago. KNOCK on wood, but there has not been a time where I wished I had a gun...let alone a time I wished I had a gun and need to draw and fire in less than 2 seconds.
I think the chances of that situation happening is far less than an accidental discharge, be it guns fault or mine (trigger snag, trip and fall while landing at the odd angle, etc).

So if I am driving in the burbs, I will leave the seatbelt off, but once I go on the highway, I will put it on. I am one of the FEW that carry unchambered, but there are times when I do go into an area that I do a little racky racky and chamber da sonamotherless ....or carry my wheel gun.

Having a gun on person and draw-rack-fire within 3-5 seconds is good enough for me, and of course, after writing this......

heres a video of times it went off on the military too, even with a safety engaged. I own a sig 320 custom works FCU but the sig defenders are wild saying theres no issue, if you wanna call the marines and stuff woke thats fine, truth isnt important anymore anyways

I think there have probably been plenty of events that were not the 320s fault, but how many legitimate issues is enough to stop using the pistol. Also, do you trust Sig to tell you if a new issue popped up?

I had to look up the match and there is more to story than at face value. internet says: p320 was heavily modified and not seated correctly in holster - the person in charge apparently also had bias against the p320 due to media.

I've modified mine.. Grayguns trigger, use reloads, tungsten everything, etc. I've seen in person a bone stock x5 FOB during a training class. I got banned by the FB sig group for bringing it up in 22. Ever since then I've moved away from the platform. I'm fairly heavily invested in it too. I sold off one of my X5's and only lack a custom works x5 fcu to build another backup with spares but not sure if i want to.

Personally I think its a QA issue, the tolerances are too loose when you swap FCU's between frames. Loose tolerances would explain why it's not reproducible. Either way, the p320 from a quantitative perspective is an outlier when it comes to issues.

I've also had my own issue with bad ammo, freedom munitions. So I still trust my gun, but its hard. I really like the p320 but its not built to last imo. It's not like a glock.

Light modded m18 is one of my LA ccw.. when i get a chance to switch it off at renewal i will... however thats more due to it being picky on range ammo. the media instances do raise flags but am trying to be a bit more aware of what is/isnt a true example of a model issue.

My P320 was one of the best shooting pistols I ever owned. I'd have never sold it if not for having too many pistols.

I have no dog in this fight, I don't own a 320/M18/M17, I was close a few times but the bad press from reliable sources kept me away, and I don't see myself revisiting it in the future until sig decides to be more intellectually honest about the issue.

That said, I'ma just leave this right here...

I believe my own eyes. In addition to seeing it happen in person. I know two separate guys I shoot uspsa with, who had their P320 signade on them. They’ve since switched to CZ.

the training accident was a stock version, low round count. The others were higher 15k+ rounds through them, M class shooters. It’s fairly random but happens too regularly to think that it’s not a real issue.

I still have mine, don’t get me wrong but shiet, when my buddies exploded it def gave me pause.

KKM Barrel for FOB and Sig Armorer Disconnect is apparently the way to "feel" more comfortable and go. Even if it signades, its pretty consistent where it goes, so as long as you're not a lefty it should be fine. I'm hosting Mason Lane who uses Sig and Issac Lockwood also uses Sig so it's not gonna happen all the time, at the same time none of their guns are stock.

Yeah, probably a bit much. It’s probably me reacting to the amount of money I’ve dropped into my 320 without any knowledge of these issues. It’s frustrating. I’m usually pretty good about researching firearms. I’m not much of a pistol person but when I picked up the x5 legion I was blown away. The salesman didn’t mention any issues either.

The 320's reputation is tarnished enough that I'd never get one. There are plenty of other options with impeccable reputations for safety. Also, most of the criticism I see is coming from gun enthusiasts, not the anti-gun left or mainstream media.

Yea, the little leg they cut off the bottom of the trigger bar.
People are so invested into sig it’s crazy. How sig is handling the situation is enough for me.
Won’t buy another sig product.
If people want to keep shooting 320’s like they are sponsored by sig, that’s on them. I find it hilarious.
