Anyone have any experience with these? I'm looking to upgrade from my Remington 870. I go clay shooting often and while I manage pretty well with the 870, I'd like to upgrade to a semi auto without breaking the bank. I've been researching and noticed the general consensus is that the parent company is Beretta and the quality is "bang for your buck". Any thoughts? I don't mind having budget guns so long as they are reliable.

James Reeves has been deliberately avoiding doing a burn down on the M3000 for a few years (I suspect because it would pass). I think they’re a solid buy, they’re the OG turknelli, and as you said they’re part of the Benelli family.
That's funny. He should do it regardless of the outcome but, that's his business. Im about 80% sure I'll end up with one. I'm not really sure where the 20% uncertainty is coming from.

I wouldn’t trust the M3000 for clay shooting unless it’s occasional or preseason hunting warm up. The volume of rounds in clay shooting hammers a shotgun and the M3000 isn’t designed for it.
I shoot sporting clays and trap and my sons shoot those disciplines along with skeet and we all shoot Browning O/Us. However, I am looking at the Stoeger M3000 and the Franchi Affinity as primary hunting guns and as loaner clay guns.
Franchi is owned by Beretta/Benelli and the Affinity bridges the gap between the Stoeger M3000 on the low end and the Benelli M2 on the high end.

I have one. used it regularly for getting birds for several years, but life caught up to me and I haven't gone since before covid. never have had any issues with it, however neither have I done like clay/trap volumes with it

I have an affinity and an M2 and between the two the m2 has had a few FTFs but both have been very reliable through many seasons of hunting. Never had a Stoeger but I would go to Sportsmans or whatever and hold one of each of the under 1000$ guns and see what actually feels good, it's hard to fit these guns aftermarket so how it feels upfront is important. If you want a clays gun I would get a CZ over-under though.

I have one. I use it for sporting clays and trap.
I think it's great, it runs almost all ammo i put into it. I did do the MCarbo trigger spring kit which makes a big difference.
The only ammo i've had trouble with was some reloads I loaded on the low end of the charge. They didnt cycle great. But medium to high on the reloads and it runs 100%
The thing eats Federal TopGun and Remington Gun Club hulls like candy. I've had 0 issues with the factory rounds.
I did 'break' the gun in with 150 rounds of slugs. It sucked and it hurt because I did it all in one day. After the slugs the first couple of clay trips were with Remington Game Loads. After a couple of the trips with those i went to the lighter Gun Club/Top Gun shells and its ran 100% since. Even breaking in I had no issues, but was using 'heavier' ammo.
I recently added an extended tube to it, and it seems to run well with it. I've only shot about 50 rounds so far with the extended tube so IDK how reliable it is yet. I think i probably have 3-4k rounds through it so far maybe more.
