The word is almost all Glock models will discontinued as of November 30th except the 43, 43x, and 48. A new Model 'V' will be released as a replacement with the possibility of some Gen 6 Glocks to follow. This apparently is primarily related to the cruciform trigger / switch issue, the subject of the recently passed California "Glock Ban".

This started out as a rumor this morning but has more and more sources confirming it's true, including The Glock Store.

Glock has been working on this for quite some time. Gen V was already well underway, but it doesn’t sound like a Gen 6 is coming anytime soon. Also, wouldnt make any sense for Glock to release Gen 5.5 then launch a whole other gen right after

If you watch the jaredAF Video #1 he shows how Glock's website had two distinct models in their database: a 'V' and a Gen6. I have no clue what the difference would be, if any.

Regardless of type or style that Glock comes out with, I'm sure it will have all the characteristics and "charm" that have endeared previous Glock models to shooters all over the world.
 
My take is:

Glock V is all the same models with new internals.

Glock gen 6 is a modular system like the patents we have all seen.
 
The only way im spending $ on a glock is if they release a steel frame to make it worth while. I have 6 glocks and none of them have seen the light of day in over 2 years. Probably won't either amytime soon.

My Glock sees the light of day every day. Well over 100k rounds and still keeps me in the top 25% of USPSA matches.
 
This may be my inner troll talking but it's kinda funny it took Glock lawsuits and state legislature to upgrade their archaic cruciform trigger. Fingers crossed they get rid of the connectors completely as even the Glock performance trigger used a connector even without the cruciform. There's a good chance we end up with better guns from all this even though the roster is the only reason we had easily convertible pistols to begin with.

Never said glocks were a 💩 gun and they handle themselves well in competition. I shot mine a 💩 ton over the years and still have a 19 at my bedside. I just prefer the 2011 platform. I would rather run my steel frame canik rival s than a glock until I sold it.
