I don't understand why ppl think this is magic... They will use powder, to push a bullet through a tube. More powder or different burn rates push the bullet faster.
Physics didn't change.
Therfor, it will make more heat, noise and recoil, an dit will produce more barrel wear. Which is a fine tradeoff if you need to put more hate on a target than a creedmoor.
The military cares because they are trying to get more life out of weapon systems that better armor has made less effective. A rebarrel extends the life of an m4 lower and untold millions of mags, mag pouches etc.
I don't have those problems. I can put. More 6.5 hate on target already with a prc... Or a 6.5saum. Why is this exciting?

Not talking about a few rounds in a mag, talking about throat erosion, bolt lug damage, etc. It’s normally a bolt gun rounds so you don’t have to worry about flame cutting your gas port or beating the
out of hammer, springs, etc. I know suppressors aren’t a thing here, but just putting a can on a semi auto beats the dog
out of them with out changing parts and that’s not jacking the chamber pressure by 20k.
