Thinking of selling the Bodyguard 2.0 Carry Comp. What would you recommend as a replacement?

Hey there Gun Fanciers,

I have the Bodyguard 2.0 with Carry Comp and Pebble optic by Gideon (green), but I'm realizing that I only want to own guns I can train with and like shooting. Turns out, I don't really like shooting small guns, even if they conceal amazingly well. I also sold my Ruger LCP Max, and I don't like most of the small guns I've tried.

I do own a P365 with Ramjet and Afterburner. Shoots nicely. I have a PCR which could conceal well and I'm pretty accurate with it (no optic). I also have a Dan Wesson Compact.

I'm looking for a replacement "small" gun that can be used for EDC, but which actually shoots well too. Some options are the Glock 26, Shield X, Walther PDP Compact, and maybe even a P-10C Ported (if I can find one).

What's a small, EDC-capable gun that you like shooting and is accurate out to 15 yards or so?

Thanks. All opinions and recommendations welcome!

Only gun on roster that meets these requirements is the S&W Shield X. Recoil impulse isn’t bad at all and I really enjoy shooting mine.

Shield X shoots good, but it’s definitely bigger/harder to conceal under light clothing. It’s virtually identical in size to a G43 with an 8 round extended mag, but a little thinner. Not bad to carry at all.

G26 is a good shooter, but the proportions aren’t good for concealed carry, it’s a wide body, same width as a G19.

I can’t speak to the Sigs

For me, the magic of the BG2.0 is that it’s a good enough shooter, and so comically small that it doesn’t print, even with summer clothes.

A BG 2.0 is replacing my G43 for warm weather, and a Shield X is replacing the G43 for colder weather.

The BG won’t get a lot of rounds through it now that it’s broken in, that’s not what I bought it for. The Shield X will probably get more use, but for fun shooting it’ll be the G19. Or a full size M&P?

I don't consider the bodyguard 2.0 to be analogous to anything you mentioned, in my opinion. It's so small and light (literally less than a 16 ounces fully loaded) that it's unbeaten for its specific niche - when you can't or don't want to carry a gun, but still want or need something. It shoots very well for its size.

It's great for exercising, walking around the block, or formal wear. It's not something I'd carry as a primary or my only gun. The next size up in my carry rotation is something compact like a Staccato C4X or larger than compact, but still not full size like my Atlas Ares. Both fully concealable without an issue even in a t shirt, but decently heavier, larger, and have a beavertail to contend with AIWB.

Well, the obvious answer is Walther PDP Compact (lol). But that is a true compact, it's not a tiny or small gun, more like medium sized, very close to a Glock 19. You already have a P365 though so why get another micro gun like the Shield? If you can find a P2000SK or P30SK they are amazing too

edit: stop laugh reacting the best compact smh lolol

I’m not enjoying shooting BG2.0 too, but we didn’t buy it as a range toy ;)
It shoots good enough to carry when bigger pews aren’t an option. Keep it just for that particular purpose, especially since Riverside CCW doesn’t have 3 gun limit (it doesn’t, right?)
5 IIRC.

I just saw a listing for a CZ P-10C, optic ready and ported. Except the asking price is nearly 3x MSRP. I feel offended just mentioning it, but at least it's an option for you if you're in the area.

I personally think the Shield Plus and P365 are as good as it gets for small guns that are just barely at the edge of being too small, while still being fun to shoot with

When is it not an option though? I carried my P2000SK while hiking and carried it with just shorts and a t shirt walking through Big Bear. I haven't even been carrying my Shield

The Kahr PM9 is a sleeper

I'm sorry but this comment dumbfounds me, how is a G26 not a good CCW gun? One of my friends has daily carried a Glock 26 for like ten years. Similar in size but even shorter grip compared to the P2000SK which is very easy to conceal. You don't need a micro pocket sized gun to ccw, not at all.

Too thick for me. As a carry gun, it’s no better than a G19 on me, the width makes a big impact. Prints like crazy.
