Thinking of selling the Bodyguard 2.0 Carry Comp. What would you recommend as a replacement?

When is it not an option though? I carried my P2000SK while hiking and carried it with just shorts and a t shirt walking through Big Bear. I haven't even been carrying my Shield

Everyone’s case is different.
Definitely wouldn’t take bg2.0 on the hike , I was always taking P-01. But for a morning jog, or gym I rather have something small and light.

Running I could see given how light the bodyguard is. An Enigma, concealment labs, or HC belt under the short would make it doable if it's it's deep concealment and below the beltline. I feel like the Lux 380 is a gun in a weird spot. It's super heavy compared to the bodyguard - nearly double the weight and effectively as heavy as a G19 or something similar, it's about as thick as a glock and shoots a caliber that has worse reliability and ballistics than equivalent 9mm para.

I always envision the use case as a gun made for people who want very very low recoil and a larger gun to connect your support hand to. So, like someone with a disability/arthritis or similar. At the size and weight it's at, you could carry a 9mm compact gun that shoots JHP and be much better off defensively.

It's pretty neat. You can be lazy and just reuse your existing holsters or get a dedicated velcro holster like I do with a TXC delta off body version. It has plenty of room for other stuff unlike a lot of other bags so I can stuff my wallet, phone, airpods, keys, etc. in there and just carry it and a towel + water bottle/chalk in hand. Or, use the larger 5L version and more of that fits in there besides the gun.

I like savior's stuff and they're actually a CA-based company here in SoCal. So, good people to support.

I have the Bodyguard 2.0 with Carry Comp and Pebble optic by Gideon (green), but I'm realizing that I only want to own guns I can train with and like shooting. Turns out, I don't really like shooting small guns, even if they conceal amazingly well. I also sold my Ruger LCP Max, and I don't like most of the small guns I've tried.

I do own a P365 with Ramjet and Afterburner. Shoots nicely. I have a PCR which could conceal well and I'm pretty accurate with it (no optic). I also have a Dan Wesson Compact.

I'm looking for a replacement "small" gun that can be used for EDC, but which actually shoots well too. Some options are the Glock 26, Shield X, Walther PDP Compact, and maybe even a P-10C Ported (if I can find one).

What's a small, EDC-capable gun that you like shooting and is accurate out to 15 yards or so?

I mean, you already own a P365. It is not my favorite by any means, but you can essentially make it just about any size you want and set it up accordingly.

Need a pocket sized pistol? Micro grip module.
Need a near full size pew that still carries like a compact? X Macro.
Can't make up your mind? X/XL, especially with the magguts +2, 14+1 in that small of a package is quite good.

That said, my EDC these days is typically my 43X, but on renewal it may change to my P365 for the above reasons.

I carry either a Glock 19 or Beretta M1934. I have my Walther P38, S&W K38 Combat Masterpiece, and my now sold CZ-75 Compact and Glock 43x were also on mine. I'm replacing the last two with an RIA 1911A1-CS when the slide is back from being worked on.

The same goes for the weight, I think the Luxe is about an ounce lighter when both are unloaded, and maybe a couple ounces lighter when fully loaded due to 380 weighing a little bit less than 9mm.

I have a Luxe 380 (my most recent pickup actually) and I've taken it to range once so far and love it. It runs incredibly smooth right out of the box with zero malfunctions, and it is as accurate as you would expect a Sig to be.

As for the ballistics of 380, as a CCW I'm extremely comfortable with the energy that it delivers. I also think the LCP Max and BG 2.0 are both great CCW guns as well.

Now say I'm going hiking where there are mountain lions and black bear? I'm taking my S&W 327PC loaded with 8 rounds of 357 Magnum.

It's a very well shooting gun, comfortable to carry, and personally I think it looks awesome. More power to anyone who wants to carry it and who am I as a random person to tell someone what they should or shouldn't carry (I'm nobody and definitely can't speak for the unique body shapes, sizes, dress styles, and level of training or other stuff for every single ccwer).

If you like it and trust it and it performs reliably, go for it. I'm just happy to see people carry SOMETHING.

I'd much rather people carry anything, even a small .22 that they can shoot okay at 10 yards and in, than the largest best shooting gun they left at home because it's too cumbersome to carry every day or for that one quick errand they end up needing it during.

Well, the obvious answer is Walther PDP Compact (lol). But that is a true compact, it's not a tiny or small gun, more like medium sized, very close to a Glock 19. You already have a P365 though so why get another micro gun like the Shield? If you can find a P2000SK or P30SK they are amazing too

I'm intrigued by the Walther PDP and it's on roster. That might be my next choice.

Throwing the G26 out there since it hits your "actually like shooting" criteria pretty well. Yeah it's G19 width (my preference) so it's not the easiest carry. I don't disagree w/ @Gravel but that width and weight is exactly what makes it shoot like a chopped G19 instead of a snappy micro. If the whole point of replacing the BG is that you want to train w/ what you carry the G26 rewards that more than a thinner gun will IMHO.

Two things:

1. Get the Gen5 MOS if you can find one. Factory optic cut means no milling and MOS holds resale way better than a one-off RMR cut w/ coating costs ($200+) that locks the next buyer into your footprint choice.

2. Mag commonality is awesome your reload can be a freedom week G17 17-rounder.

Not the pick if deep concealment in a t-shirt is the priority. ShieldX, BG and 43x wins there but I don't enjoy shooting those. Also not a fan of the Glock 48.
