Funny I was looking at a Walther P22

I purchased a P22 not too long ago and it did not run reliably at all. Sank about $100 in on an upgraded firing pin, recoil spring and extractor from Tandem Kross and it's been pretty close to 100% ever since.

It has a reputation for not being great out of the box, but if you like to fiddle with your guns, then the upgraded parts will get it running.

Good start for fun.I would look into an ar pattern and a bolt action for rifles.

For many years i only had a single handgun finally got a second in 2016 but 5 rifles from semi to lever action.Now since left ca i added quite a few LOL. Now handguns own 5 and rifles just 6 but now its 4 ars passed the 30-30 down to nephew sold a mini 14 which seein prices wish i kept.

About the Phoenix (Bryco, Jennings): they have a reputation as unreliable. And they are, if you treat them like the throw-away pistols they're designed as. I inherited a J25 from my grandfather and couldn't get more than a round or two off without a malfunction. Since this was something that held a lot of sentimental value to me, I was unwilling to accept that answer. After tearing it apart and cleaning it very thoroughly, it now runs great, though it is very sensitive to dirt, carbon, etc. If you spend an inordinate amount of time cleaning and lubing it when you first get it and after every range trip, I suspect your results would be similar.

I also have an LCP MAX, but I've only shot it once. My only advice is buy a bunch of ammo, poke holes in things, make some noise, and have fun.

Most like shooting is the shotgun but ammo is expensive as the range i often go to only allows the use of slugs. Otherwise it would probably be between my ruger max 9 and lcp max as ive gotten use to them the most
