For me being target focused and the front/rear irons are slightly blurred when ever the front sight is about to cross over my POA I send the second shot which is the same process for a RDS. IMHO instead of practicing doubles and trying to duplicate it you should concentrate more on firing a single shot and tracking your front sight to see exactly what it's doing. With a proper grip and trigger pull your front sight/dot should rise and fall vertically. You need to figure out how to do this with what grip works best for you build/disabilities. Also having a smooth non jerky trigger pull is also essential. Practice the processes vs trying to hopefully achieve the desired outcome by sending multiple rounds down range.
