Dang that's some seriously yellow "journalism"... blew every anti-gun dog whistle in the book... and plenty of less than accurate terminology and a sprinkle of racism just for giggles. All from a perspective of a Turkish mouthpiece, with some "Trump" thrown in for clickbait value. Machine guns and cannons thrown in as if we hadn't tossed the "military style" scare tactic out enough...

The ONE accurate takeaway is that those who (in America) recognize the RIGHT to self defense, recognize that reasonably priced, quality firearms are something that law abiding citizens should have access to.... and conversely the pearl clutching "antis" (like demanding Karens telling everyone else what to do) want every weapon melted down into garden hoes! (Do it for the "children" like the two 18 year olds in the opening paragraph! Wanna bet there were drugs or gangs involved...?)

After a while, one learns to read between the lines, or recognize the obvious PROPAGANDA and agenda driven "media"... welcome to the vomitorium.

Yes, obviously a very slanted article. The intro was an anecdotal story about a kid getting shot with a Turkish gun, which means Turkish guns are easily available, therefore Turkish guns are bad. It's a cheap hook to get the reader fired up.

If I'm not mistaken, some major US manufactures are outsourcing to Turkey. I believe parts of the Springfield 2020 are of Turkish origin. Typical corporate bull. Anything to increase profits.

One of the kids has an older Browning Auto-5 in 16 gauge; it is a very easy shooting bird gun and in pristine condition for its age. Ammunition can still be found, but it seems more expensive than my preferred 12 gauge. We can shoot that nice gun all day, and it is very reliable.

I do thank you. And yes, I am well aware of the ability to source it. Some time back I found a large crate full of older boxes of 16 gauge at a yard sale, under a pile of old reloading stuff. Some of it had paper shells, and a wide variety of hunting and various other loads. For $15 it was a steal, and out of the first five hundred rounds, only three failed to work. As I recall the folks at the yard sale just wanted to get rid of it. Got lucky that day.

The underlying facts stated in the article are true. Calling Turkish imported guns 'cheap' instead of inexpensive is an attempt to make them into modern day Saturday night specials. Back in the day, the availability of cheap handguns for the poor was a major problem for liberals. They wanted handguns to be too expensive for the lower econmic strata of society to afford.
