A federal jury in Maine said there were no defects in Sig Sauer's P320 in a case in an unintended discharge of the firearm.
The jury considered product liability, negligence, and breach of implied warranty, and ruled unanimously in favor of Sig Sauer.

The case follows the dismissal of a class action lawsuit against Sig Sauer

they made a lot of rolling modifications to the design that seem to have fixed some real and imagined issues, but never disclosed changes publically besides the slide weight issue the army had. lot of the discharges you see come from significantly modified guns and possible tolerance stacking issues. Quite a few court cases been dismissed in sigs favor. All of the other sig designs dont have issues and are gtg, i just personally dont like the p320 system

They had a drop safe issue when they first came out that was fixed by a redesign in like 2016? Since then there have been no verified issues or examples of the gun firing without a trigger pull. In recent testing the M18 actually passed the M9 for reliability which is crazy. Was just watching a TFBTV video about it. I got a M18 since I have been trying to get one of all my service guns, so far it hasn't gone off randomly. My dad's P320 hasn't had an issue either and it's like ten years old.
I also have numerous friends in the Navy and Marine Corps and none of them have had their M18/M17 "just go off".

Every issue posted seems to have no proof/verification or turns out to be fraudulent like the airman that shot the other airman then lied about it. Most of the issues have revolved around holstering aka skill issue

Prices recover? They seem pretty normal, and high in CA. I went new because everyone was asking MSRP

I dont think so, I've seen more and more sellers discount their 320’s to make a sale. Not many people trust the sear system on them.

There are have been few videos that seem to show that the device in question (Sig P320) does have problem with AD. Those include videos of police officers, in different setting that seems to show those ADs:

etc..... there are a lot of claims and few of those were captured on video. Some people claimed that they managed to reproduce the issue; however I don't think anything truly conclusive was done.

Unfortunately there were cases where people tried to take advantage of situation claiming AD when in fact there was none, including on military bases etc....

So no proof, but hell of a lot of smoke.

I just bought another x5 legion… $250 cheaper the second time around. My favorite factory pistol right there with the CZsp01. No issues. I’ve always been amazed at how quickly people jumped on the bandwagon to bash sig. We’re all second amendment people yet so many of us suddenly became woke and stoked the negative media fire

In not a Glock fan boy or SIG, so I don’t have a dog in this fight. However I do like to stay informed of all things gun related & with that said, so far, I don’t see in the article provided a whole lot of info (meat and potatoes) as to why this particular jury made this decision. However, there is plenty of info on when they were found liable twice in 2024. One decision, in one case, and there are dozens right now, does not mean the P320 is off the hook IMHO

MSRP on a Legion X5 is 13-14 hundys, Ive seen 8-9 on here.. New.

Again, they have been found liable and not liable in the past. And there are other examples too. I think saying this one case settles it, is a bit premature. I’d really like to know more details about this particular case in Maine about the officer suing SIG regarding negligent discharge in his holster. I just don’t know enough to make an informed decision. I’m sure they’ll be more to follow
