Does not apply to law enforcement officers, individuals with a state-issued gun license (where applicable), unloaded firearms locked in containers or vehicle racks, or authorized school-approved programs. Not exactly sure why you'd bring up a law that doesn't apply since he has a CCW license. I'm guessing you didn't actually know what you were writing about haha.Gun-Free School Zones Act

Yeah not sure what he was trying to say by listing that, it has no relevance on these state and local statutes.ok and?, schools are still listed in SB2
California Senate Bill 2 (SB 2) prohibits carrying a concealed firearm (CCW) in K-12 school zones, including public or private school grounds and within 1,000 feet of school grounds.I'm fairly certain SB2 says you can walk by schools you just can't hang out lol. So you can be in a school zone if you are going through.
Section 26230California Senate Bill 2 (SB 2) prohibits carrying a concealed firearm (CCW) in K-12 school zones, including public or private school grounds and within 1,000 feet of school grounds.
Did you not read 14? lol...Section 26230
(e) Except in the places specified in paragraph (14) of subdivision (a), a licensee shall not be in violation of this section while they are traveling along a public right-of-way that touches or crosses any of the premises identified in subdivision (a) if the concealed firearm is carried on their person in accordance with the provisions of this act or is being transported in a vehicle by the licensee in accordance with all other applicable provisions of law. Nothing in this section allows a person to loiter or remain in a place longer than necessary to complete their travel.
The shooting started in the parking lot so I think bystander saw that and followed him into the school from outside. It's still very early and we are missing a ton of details, but this shoot feels like it's going to be very similar to the Lucille's BBQ shooting in Cerritos i.e. the CCW holder did an objectively great thing but the location circumstances were wrong.
I don't think we have heard a single update about the Lucille's shooter either, and I don't think we ever will. I am guessing that he was told he broke they law and they could stomp his balls if they wanted to, but if he keeps his mouth shut and fades away they will let it go.
that's just universities though, schools with children are fine lol. What a weird cut out to not allow universities?Did you not read 14? lol...
An area under the control of a public or private community college, college, or university, including, but not limited to, buildings, classrooms, laboratories, medical clinics, hospitals, artistic venues, athletic fields or venues, entertainment venues, officially recognized university-related organization properties, whether owned or leased, and real property, including parking areas, sidewalks, and common areas.
Concealed is concealed though
None of it makes any logical sensethat's just universities though, schools with children are fine lol. What a weird cut out to not allow universities?
This is true and I don't know why others are not aware of the travel through exemption. If you have ccw you can pass by on sidewalk or driving on street as long as you do not stop or loiter. You also cannot stop to drop off or pick up anyone.I'm fairly certain SB2 says you can walk by schools you just can't hang out lol. So you can be in a school zone if you are going through.
I literally read codes and regs for a living and I barely understand even how to read the thing let alone the rationale behind itNone of it makes any logical sense
Even if it did you walking your child up to the door or being on the grounds for something as simple as a fundraiser is legally a no go.I'm fairly certain SB2 says you can walk by schools you just can't hang out lol. So you can be in a school zone if you are going through.
That’s the biggest issue thoughThis is true and I don't know why others are not aware of the travel through exemption. If you have ccw you can pass by on sidewalk or driving on street as long as you do not stop or loiter. You also cannot stop to drop off or pick up anyone.
Aren’t parking lots carved into SB2, that was one of the biggest initial issue pointed out when it was introduced. Even if you were going to a place that fell into an ok category if it was adjacent or shared a parking lot with a prohibited place you’re breaking the lawThe shooting started in the parking lot so I think bystander saw that and followed him into the school from outside.
