For those of you who need the nudge to compete, here ya go. Among many others that the SoCal Long Range Club are offering they're getting some new and different stuff off the ground and could sure use some support. First up is the Team Sniper Challenge at the end of August. I've shot the first one and it was a great way to test not only yourself under pressure but your communication skills and ability to set your ego aside. Next is the Hunter match at the same location, this is an individual competition that's designed to mimic NRL Hunter in the blind stage, find, range, engage format with 2-1 scoring (per target its 2 points for a first round impact, 1 point for a second round impact). This one is good to go with either gas or bolt guns, two different divisions to encompass either factory hunting rifles or full customs (working on getting a division between the two as well, give me some feedback on that to use as "ammo" for the match director). This one was also a total blast and even knowing the majority of the target sets out there was still a challenge, but can be shot using 3-4 boxes of ammo which is appealing to alot of people. Everyone, competition is the #1 thing you can use to test yourself, your gear, and improve/grow in this sport so I highly encourage every student that comes across my events to attend one. I'll help with gear/hand holding at the range when needed so if you feel the need to reach out with any questions please speak up and we'll get you squared away.
