Echelon is getting added to the roster so I figured I give future owners a review of this trigger before you jump it.
Tyrant says they reduce the pre travel by 20% but I think it’s way more than that. As you can see from the pictures, I put lines so you can see the difference on where the trigger line up before the pull, at the wall and when it breaks.
The lines represent the factory trigger.
Tyrant never promised trigger pull weight reduction so don’t expect that. I measured the trigger # before and after and I’m getting the same average of 4.6#. This is what they say, “The trigger's pull weight is finely tuned to a consistent 4lb, striking the perfect balance between ease of use and safety.”
After trigger installation, the pre travel is crazy good. You press the trigger very little and you’re at the wall already! Wow. The one thing that I wish could be better was the creep. It’s still there. The Apex forward set sear on my competitor is too damn good I guess it spoiled me.
If you hate slack/pre travel in your triggers and want to eliminate this only, buy the Tryant trigger. If you’re expecting trigger pull # reduction & less creep you should skip it and look for another trigger.
People say to buy the powder river precision spring kit to make the trigger better and that might be true.
One thing I’m hoping it will eliminate is trigger bite. After shooting the gun a few times it started biting pretty bad. If the bite is still there, I would consider returning it but I wouldn’t want to considering I only paid $66 for the trigger.
