Grid Iron Arena was a fun match with 9 different stages of short, medium and long courses. Its always fun to meet people out on the range. I hope to meet more of you over time, you get the green dragon badge if we meet so I know we've squadded before.

This match went terrible but still placed in the 70%+ range for Carry Optics. I had GM times but B level hits. This tells me that I'm rushing a bit with the trigger, but not to slow down. If anything my eyes need to process & pinpoint the spot on the target faster or hold onto the gun tighter.

In this stage, my time was right there with the GM's, but I dropped a Mike on the open target on the entry into the 3rd array and 2 Deltas on the exit. I didn't give myself enough time to stabilize the dot or my grip was off or i stepped while I was shooting. Usually one of the three. When practicing, these are some of the entry and exit drills I'll work on specifically to tighten things up. Swinger was AC the rest were all A's so 2 D's and 1 M cost me a 90%+ run. These short courses expose a lot of weaknesses in fundamentals in movement.

One step closer to A Class, just need to put more time into practice to refine some things. I change my grip back to where I was before and the speed came back on follow ups.

 
Getting out on the range is the best. A nice day on the range with good stages and people all trying their best. Definitely getting more comfortable with grip pressure which is leading to a lot more alphas. This was my top stage with 79%. Alpha to Charlie and Delta Ratio is going down too. Had good draws at distance. This one was 1.14s at 20 yards and had a 1.55s at 45 yard on a mini popper and paper 2A with a .59 split after a malfunction which was a PITA.

Gun started jamming up. I haven't cleaned it after 3000 rounds and got worse as the match went on. I needed to oil it but that's for next time. First half of stages went well. The positives were less mikes and no shoots on purpose after botching the classifier.

 
It’s been awhile since I shot as a competitor vs organizer/volunteer. I’m signed up for a few more matches to take a breather from the grind.

We’re making steady progress on the site and will continue to add features.

Felt good to get out there, can’t wait to go back

I had a handgun a few years ago (SIG P226) that I unfortunately had to sell since I was unemployed at the time. I got a Staccato P yesterday and have been practicing my dry fire at home, I really wanna try doing a USPSA match sometime soon!

Wanted to try it out but it’s Impossible to sign up a match at Richmond.. by the time it’s open to public the waiting list is 20+ long
 
Just shot my second LDF match. I definitely need to improve a ton. Any recommendations for classes tailored towards USPSA competitions

Yes. I have never been to a competition in California where they care about you having +10 mags. We are not here to enforce laws.
 
From Richmond's USPSA match yesterday. My big mistake is that I thought I stepped outside the shooting area at one point (and my reloads were particularly slow yesterday).

 
Latest classifier match focused on fundamentals. Had a M run and could’ve done so much better. Goal for this year is going to be to improve my consistency. I’m way faster than before…

Taking classes reinforces fundamentals. I haven’t shot in ~4 months but once you have a solid base of skills it lingers.
