What’s the quickest in-and-out DROS experience you’ve had at a store?

Aeon TAC in GG is fast. Another fast great FFL is Riflenetics in GG. Andrew is the man. Both in and out in roughly 15mins.

Best part is, it's all PC/iPad based. None of that old school paper/pen you gotta fiddle with. But I give it to Riflenetics only because they release on undetermined whereas AT does not.

I will second Riflenetics. Great customer service, super fast transactions, and Andy is just a really good, friendly dude.

UG Imports is my go-to FFL for PPTs and transfers. Usually 10 minutes or under. Never going to Bass Pro again, almost 1.5 hours just for paperwork and another hour for pickup.

The guys at OC Armory would knock them out in ten minutes easy. I recently had the misfortune of doing a PPT at On Target and its an hour initially and then an hour on pickup and then the best part is when they call you and say hey can you come back and fix an error on the paperwork.

Turners is by far the slowest I’ve experienced at 45mins, and I even had an appointment. West Coast Firearms was my fastest at 10mins. Having a CCW helps avoid doing a function test

East Bay Firearms and J&R Sporting Goods (both in Livermore) take 15-20 minutes (to be fair I’ve never timed it and I’m guessing but it goes quickly). Maybe could be faster if I wasn’t so chatty.

2A Zone is my go to. They're usually super quick.
I wont do Turners for anything other than C&R due to their policy on undetermined.

15 minutes. Had this at 2 locations, UG Imports and Reed's indoor Range. Helps though that I have a CA DOJ instructor card.

I was gonna say, accuracy is critical, perhaps more so than speed. Here's what I look for when it comes to PPT;

Staff. There should be enough people ready to do a PPT without me having to wait behind three people because of first-come-first-served, when any one of those people could take an hour just asking a million questions and handling different models. This also means that appointments aren't necessary. I was too traumatized by COVID and LONG wait times in gun stores....waiting for each person ahead of me and whatever it was they were doing.

PPT-friendly. The FFL should welcome PPTs and not treat them as a blight on their business, though I know they don't make much from them.

Cash transfer in store. Inherently, it's far safer for someone buying a $2,500 gun with cash to be able to transfer that (discreetly) in-store. That's a security benefit to the buyer. Cameras help deter theft too. I will step outside if the seller's FFL prohibits cash-transfer, but it's not my preference and FFLs I choose will always allow cash transfer in-store.

Friendly employees. Self-explanatory. Don't want hostile blowhards, especially if they hate doing PPTs.

I've got one in flight at VC (Victor Charlie) Armory in Ventura. I was in and out in less than 15 minutes.

Another +1 for Cap Tactical. Did a fast deal there this past February.

My current PPT seller insisted on Turners. Pick up, as always at Turners, was a flipping clown show. Putting on a positive spin, Turners is consistent. The staff is friendly. Just never enough. Over 90 minutes for a pick up.

Any LGS other than Turners will get you out quick(er).

I started a purchase of a rifle at Cap Tactical and it was fast. Turners is just a show.

I can vouch for Cap Tactical as well, 15 mins or less as a new customer, haven’t went elsewhere since

At River City, under 10 minutes. At my local turners, under 15 minutes. I seem to have some real good luck but, my brother on the other hand has been dealt with 1-2 hour wait times.

I would never agree to a PPT st Turner's. Worse than the DMV in my limited experience. I also avoid understaffed shops as you're stuck waiting behind whomever is already there.

Speed is good but I also value accuracy and a friendly demeanor.

PPT a few time there. Took about 15mins average.

Pick up was about 10mins average.

As others have stated….RifleGear in Fountain Valley is good. I don’t know about quick anymore tho. Everywhere seems to take 20min+ it seems. Make an appt online to go quicker.

Had a few 10-15 minute purchases at RifleGear. Quickest sign out there was 7 minutes. They're very efficient.
