What’s the tactical equivalent of putting a spoiler on a Honda Civic?

My P2000SK was made before red dots became so common so it has Trijicon night sights haha. Still works great

I'm fairly certain you don't know what you are missing, there's a reason irons essentially don't exist in competition. they are objectively inferior. No shade to anyone that wants to run irons but I just don't want to, I don't like irons and you can't make me lol

Competition isn't real life CCW usage so irrelevant. Why would I jack up a classic HK and make it a franken gun when my new pistols come optics ready? I can shoot the dude with or without a dot

You'll notice the design is totally different on the real race cars. The street car is 90% for looks, you won't be driving it to where the downforce is going to matter unless you're at Laguna Seca.

Competition is putting your shooting under pressure. You don't have to compete to do that but if you think there isn't an inherent and distinct advantage then I reiterate that you just don't know what you are missing. There's nothing wrong with what you are doing but the difference is significant and meaningful. your setup is exactly what you said, it's "fine".

Plenty of people have poor vision due to health issues or age, and a red dot optic is tailor-made to mitigate those issues.

It’s from years of experience, but sure ignorant. Everyone can do what they want, doesn’t work for me, more to carry, more to break.

I don’t argue with people here, everyone does what they want and that’s fine. But saying i’m ignorant is just silly you have no idea who anyone here is or what they do/have done.

Why would I want an inferior sighting system on my carry gun, the gun I may actually need to be fast and accurate? I don't use irons on anything

It's some pressure but nothing like real life. The stress of the timer doesn't do much to me after all I've done. It's a fun sport for sure. I don't think I even used my sights when I drew my CCW, you're going off muscle memory when adrenaline dumps like that. Even racing it's hard to get the same adrenaline rush anymore. I think I might get my pilot's license and do skydiving next haha

Hell, I thought the 220 hp of my convertible Mini Cooper was more than sufficient. I lapped an entire field of old and new Shelby Mustangs at a track day. 315 hp in a Civic would be awesome.

British touring car racing was wild. Crazy mini’s in the corners, big ass fords on the straights.

Magpuls (the actual OG Magpul you install on a magazine) and Magpul ranger plates.

30+ years ago they made sense. I was on a CH46 Helicopter Insertion Company, but the boat guys used duct tape and paracord as a Magpul because cold, wet hands cannot grab slick metal mags easily out of ALICE Gear pouches.

Brightly colored anodized parts especially on gucci Glocks, that's the closest equivalent to a ricer car like that. Cheap, with average performance and you put a bunch of gaudy parts on it to look cooler lol

I'm more just saying when was the last time you did more than shooting in a lane at the static range for training? Like if you are shooting dynamically, shooting while moving, shooting at moving targets, shooting as fast as you can aquire the target, it's not even close the red dot will always do all of those things better. You should actually try some local matches because yes, in the beginning you will probably shoot without even seeing your target but you eventually learn the amount of confirmation required to shoot accurately as fast as you can. it's not even about adrenaline it's about your muscle memory. I promise you you aren't too good for it and will likely be humbled
