Feedback What are your thoughts on Glock “gouges”

It's always the same no matter what someone is selling. The seller wants to get the most they can and the buyer wants to buy at the lowest price they can.

I’m sure you remember Freedom Week. The moment Judge Benitez’s decision came out, many retailers all over the country started shipping as many magazines as they could to California. They made a lot of money, but they could have made a lot more if they had jacked up their prices to meet the suddenly massive demand. But they didn’t raise their prices at all, because their primary interest was in helping fellow gun owners behind enemy lines. Gun owners on gun forums all around the nation advocated for not buying magazines themselves during that time to leave more supply for us in California. They could have bought up supply and sold them to us on eBay or various gun boards at inflated prices, but they didn’t. They were also looking out for fellow gun owners instead of trying to capitalize on the situation for personal gain. And then you had a few profiteers like Cheaper Than Dirt who tripled and even quadrupled their prices to take advantage of the sudden demand that everyone knew could come to an end at any time. I will never do business with them again after that pathetic display of greed. As far as I’m concerned, these Glock Gougers are doing the same thing. Their response to California’s continued assault on our rights is to seize the opportunity to profit off of their fellow gun owners. In my book, they are no different than Cheaper Than Dirt during Freedom Week.

Yes I get it. But we are not talking about food or housing. We are talking about a Glock and people have other choices. But I get what you're saying. I think all my sales are at reasonable prices so I get repeat buyers and sellers because I feel I deal with people with respect. I think for the most part that this forum is a community of people helping each other out. If I have something I no longer need, I can sell it to someone who could use it at a reasonable price. But everyone here is a little different. For some, this is part of their business and every dollar of profit counts. I really don't have a problem with people trying to make the most they can. I just look at their ads and laugh and think "good luck with that".
 
I don't give a fuzz about Glocks but let's shame people charging 3k for some off roster stuff I actually want, because shame totally works right guys? Guys?!
 
Truth be told, new Gen 3 Glocks were overpriced before all this. Now the prices are just retarded. I've never bought a new Glock. I've only ever bought used for $300-$450. Now theres even less of a reason to get one. Get an M&P.

I was told by a LGS that the Shadow Systems they have must be sold by the same date as their Glocks then won’t be available from stores anymore; I thought they were in the same position as Glocks legally. I still got the echelon instead because I have Glocks already and the echelon trigger, side fit/action, and hand feel were all better than SS so didn’t feel the price justified it.
 
If we’re for sure going to get gen6 on roster, I’ll sell all my gen3 Glocks in a heartbeat right now… I hear the newer gens have much better triggers
 
If they aren't worth what the seller is asking, then buy one for the value you think it's worth.

If there are not any at the value you think it's worth, it sounds like you're wrong about their value.
