What other grip options are there? Only ones I know about are the expensive all metal ones.

Springfield have three different sizes and colors for their grip modules. Depending on what size module your gun came with, you may want to go with a different size.

I was at my LGS the other day. I held the Eschelon 4.0 and thought it was a decent entry into the Glock 19 class of handguns. It didn't seem much different from the M&P M2.0 equivalent. The optics cut is a nice feature, but I don't use an RDS.

What does it bring to the table while shooting?

Echelon has a modular fire control group that you can change out grip frames like a Sig P320.

I just had my G19 at the range today and rented an echelon 4.0 for free (non comp and comp version) for fun since I have a comp model in jail right now. The echelons (comp or not) feel way better in my hands, trigger is way better (even with a connector and polish job on the glock), slide racks way more easily, feels way nicer, shoots flatter and faster, just as accurate (maybe more but too early to tell), and honestly is just a better gun in pretty much every way. Also a bit thinner and seems easier to conceal.

I’m extremely excited to pick mine up and will prob spend the $200 to modify my CCW to replace the g19 with it (yeah the cost is nuts, like $50 for the qual and $150 to modify and reprint the permit but it’s that much better)

OUCH!!! San Joaquin is free to update (or it was 6 months ago). I typically pay $45 for a qual on a new gun.

I've got a plain full size Echelon. Going to wait for the FC size, maybe green, and grab a compact upper. Sharps module looks amazing but that's a hefty price. Plus the OEM module already feels good in the hand.

The echelon is not really an expensive gun and I don't believe costs anymore brand new than a Glock 19 assuming you're out of california. If you try and buy one in California the only thing that does better than a Glock 19 is drain your bank account

I'm hoping the Icarus grip module will be made for the compact size. That one looks good to me.

I have a Glock 19 clone (Shadow Systems MR920) and the Echelon is just materially different to shoot. The grip module and comp take all of the snap out of the gun and its a very flat shooter. I have a 4.0 too - no difference.

Oooooh this is making me even more excited to pick mine up in a few hours - glad I went with the compact comp instead of the FS. I mainly wanted to get a fast flat shooter and had been wondering if I should’ve gotten the 4.5” version but it’s great to hear you can’t tell the difference!

I did the same with mine. Same optic as well. I did get the C+H holosun 407k plate. It worked perfect filling the gap and still cowitnessing with my osight se.

Welp just picked up my 4.0 comp and put 300 rds through it. I’m in love. Super tight groups with slow fire and incredibly flat shooting; I got better groups shooting WAY faster than I can with my G19 or even my full size metal frame CZ 75… shooting the little colored circle/square/triangle targets with quick transitions I got way more hits with the echelon than my G19. Can’t wait to try it with a green dot!

Yes it works. I've done it. The full size slide has enough of a dust cover to hide the return spring.

It ends up looking like a glock 47 or gen 6 glock.17

That decided it for me, thank you. Sharps Bros looks good but I'm content enough with the OEM grip that I don't feel like I need to spend that kind of money.
