What is more important to you? Capacity or shooting experience?

Let's say a grandpa is walking his twin toddlers. A garage door opens and two pit bulls bolt out making a beeline for the little ones.

Grandpa needs a few for each dog and some left over the dumbass that opened the door.

Unlikely? Sure but...would you rather have ten or more?

I don't see shootability ranking equal or above capacity in importance, except for someone who is physically disabled and needs something very specific. Any able-bodied person can (and should) train to proficiency with a [insert 15+ capacity 9mm]. Also a gun that you like to fondle is not necessarily a gun you shoot well, and vice versa.

That being said, even in California there is such a good selection nowadays that you can probably get one that suits both for you.

Having been surrounded by 3 pimps on a child sex trafficking case in Oakland I am glad to have 15+1 and not 7 rounds. Easy to say you're John Wick and won't miss but real life is not like that

Experience > Capacity

Buy an Atlas. Practice your reloads
por que no los does. I've carried various Atlases and Infinities over the years. Staccato HD C4X is a pretty good middle ground right now while I wait for my dream carry gun to be finished rebuilt off an unused Atlas I had lying around.

I mean, when my job might demand more firepower I certainly wasn't averse to it, but just regular civilian carry in a regular neighborhood, a snubbie is plenty. Same reason I generally carry a folder and not a kukri. Uncle ain't paying, I can't plan for the edge case.

Wait so why isn't a Glock 19 shootable? I don't even like glocks but I cant argue that they don't work. There's a lot of alternatives though from shield plus with 15rd mags, m&p compact, pdp compact etc

7.62x39 hits a lot harder than 5.56. But a soldier can carry significantly more ammo with the M16 than an AK.

That being said, regardless of what mags you own, in California you can only carry with 10 round magazines. But regardless of what gun you have, you need to train. So personally I’d rather have a 10 round magazine and train often, because running out of ammo is the surest way to lose a fight.

Most jurisdictions are fine with carrying legal magazines and until Duncan is resolved those magazines may be over 10 rounds

Yah … this is just incorrect regarding carry.

Many IAs are perfectly fine with you carrying your legally possessed and obtained standard capacity magazines and many of us have been doing so for many years.

That hero in Bend shot 15 rounds to put down the perp.

Remember: you never need more than 10 rounds living in California.
