You need to find who wants to sell an off roster firearm which you are looking for and go to FFL. Maybe you have a LEO friend who can buy this for himself and sell it to you later. But essentially it boils down to private individual selling it to another private individual. That is 100% legal

SIG (SIG Inflicted Gunshot) is on my naughty list but a P226 X-Five or X-Five Legion is on my list.

I simply want to be able to ring up my favorite gunsmith out of state and have him build me a new 1911 or 2011 from the frame up. Then go do the dros at a local ffl when finished in a year or so without any hoops to jump thru. Mainly like folks in normal states.
