No, it's a bad gun and the money is wasted if the person is a "shooter". If it's lifetime round count is 50 or 100, then perhaps that's good enough. But the sum of the parts of the XD is less than the low price tag.

There are many complaints you can have about the pistol nowadays - non-adjustable grips, non-optic cut, etc. but they are absolutely reliable for thousands of rounds.

I do think for the price the Rost Martin offers the best bang per buck on the roster. You get everything you need in a nice profile, optic ready.

I’m saying this even as the sponsorship just ended so a bit sad but it is a good gun and I’m looking forward to their next versions plus you can swap slides for comp as well

I appreciate that there are new affordable high-value options on the roster, like the Rost Martin. But I'd pick up one of the Caniks over the Martin. The Martin doesn't take Glock mags so there's not really incentive for me to choose it over another gun that doesn't take Glock mags.

The MC9 is a very attractive gun with a very nice trigger but the problem of not going back to battery issue has come up too many times.

or you can just go to Route66 Expo and get 10000 factory ammo for about $2100 otd.

Im so glad I still have $40/1000 bullets and $12/1000 primers and $10/lb powder that I am loading my 9mm with for 6 cents a round.

Who loads with star line brass for 9mm?

124 gn flat nose tek coated practice 9mm average .15 cents per round. Match Precision Delta 124 FMJ 124 gn HP’s cost .16-.21 cents depending on primer .

I have yet to see a bullet sale that is cheaper than reloading after shipping , tax , hazmat and FFL fees.

You can get excellent pistols that are no longer on the roster or the non roster versions of roster guns on consignment or on CAguns. No mag disco , no ugly LCI , no unnecessary safety.

I agree, but seems like it's fixed by replacing the recoil /striker spring. Obviously super annoying, but potentially fixable.

Since the CA excise tax started on guns and ammo a little over a year ago, the number of PPT's for firearms has exploded. But is there anything left on the roster still worth purchasing from your LGS? A year ago I would have said a CZ 75 P-01 was still worth the money even with the extra cost. But now that it's off roster, is there anything else you would buy?

Starline is top notch, but pricing is ridiculous. I just pick up my shot brass and reload it five times. After that, I just dispose of it (well...leave it at the range) just to make life easy when inspecting cases. That said, I do reload 45 ACP at least five times; usually I get around nine reloads before cases start cracking.

Remember, the brass is where you save the money.

I’d say the Springfield Echelon is best bang for $ at this moment, those Croatian hole punchers are built rugged and reliable, only heard positive reviews on them. The optic ready slides mount directly to the slide with ~30+ optics that will fit without plates and will allow cowitnessing with most optics with the stock oem iron sights is awesome! Plus the COG chassis will open up options for modularity once some aftermarket companies/Springfield are ready to release their grips modules. Thats the only one that I would dish out the extra 20% excise tax for. Literally a better Glock to say the least!
