I don't quite understand how they are still able to use the range. Maybe they have a separate agreement with DFW?

They got a special use permit for just matches and only the 2 days a month that the matches are set.

Great news, I have a feeling this will be the beginning of a new era out at the SLOWA range.
Despite the hard work and good intentions of a few, the old management and BOD was pretty much a mess.

This is great news, hopefully we get the coastal classic next year.

According to their website, they are planning to be operating by February 2026.

Not quite a Christmas miracle, but damn near.

Long distance shooters club won't be coming back, but having the standard range operational alone will be a breathe of fresh air. The main range did go out to 700yds anyway....

I had always shot at the gong at top of that hill. Couldn't find the 700 yard target, maybe I didn't look hard enough

AFAIK this is correct...at least for the time being. I know that the Long Range club is gone for certain. The website has an announcement about it stating that the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is coming in to remove any ordnance/munitions....

Sort of wild that they left ordnance out there...?

I think that was their excuse for scaling us back to 980 and not let us use further distance targets on the right.
