What's the gun you trust your life to - Im referring to carry, or if you don't carry, your home defense gun. (Brand). Just getting a gauge as to what the prevailing opinion is for some research... If your brand is not on there, use other and specify below if you want. Pick up to 3.

Glock, HK, and CZ for me.

There's tons of 1911 and 2011 brands out there. The platform can be finicky depending on who the manufacturer is, the mags as well.

The designs for the aforementioned three are simple and proven. HKs especially. Tanks

I carry a P2000SK and CZ P-O1/Shadow 2.

Since @Gawernator seems to be busy, I’ll answer on his behalf. HK, Walther, Sig (especially 226 but most importantly 320).
Pretty much. I have a S&W Shield on my CCW right now too. But usually I'm drawn to a more capable handgun with better capacity like the PDP Compact or my new VP9K. I love German firearms but all the mainline brands will work. I may switch out the Shield for my P2000 after I mill the slide and put the SRT idk

Listing Taurus and not Walther is criminal

Also 1911 and 2011 are not brands so that makes zero sense. Sig makes a 2011 and a MK25....

My M18 is a cool gun and part of my service handgun trifecta but the trigger is worse than the HK and Walther and the stock grip is too wide for my girlish hands. Looks sick with the WC grip and a Sig ROMEO optic though and it is accurate and shoots well. The 17 and 21 round mags are really well designed you get crazy capacity for the size of the gun.

???
???
I don't trust a "brand" for my safety. A gun doesn't make me safe. I make me safe. I trust me. I have all the guns on the list except the Canik, 2011, and Taurus. Any of them could be used as a suitable defense tool.

The Taurus and Canik felt like a little comedic relief. I wish I could trust Canik explicitly. Had ZERO issues with mine. But they dont hold the best reputation for quality control across the board.

It’s like me trusting my Tisas. Hasn’t given me problems post break in. Still wouldn’t carry it.

I can trust my Canik. But I can’t say that I would encourage others to trust those brands unless they challenge their pistol with the sufficient use of the defense round they want to use. It’s a unit by unit case. Same for any Brand.. but some brands have a better reputation for sure!
