All guns are tools to me. Super-cool and useful, but just tools. I've bought/sold all kinds of items over the years, including guns from my dad, uncle, and best friend.

And, like a poster said above, I'm ready to start downsizing to a few choice pieces. Quality over quantity...or something like that, haha!!

Beretta Bobcat. Was ultra reliable, easy to shoot, and I can't even remember what I did with the money I got for it.
 
I have two: My Sig SP2022, and my Windham MPC, both sold out of financial necessity as a young'n.

I know you can get a 2022 anywhere on the cheap(ish) these days, but it was my very first pistol I bought on my own for my 21st birthday, and I loved that gun. And the Windy was just an absolute beauty of a rifle that I wish I didn't have to sell at the time, but didn't really have much of a choice.
 
I sold my 9mm SIG P239 after Freedom Week allowed me to carry more rounds in some other carry guns. I genuinely regret doing that. The SIG P239 was a GREAT gun, and now they don’t make them any more.
 
I inherited a very low number factory engraved Python, presentation box and all. Never fired, as my grandfather wasn't a handgun guy and it had sat untouched in his safe for 30 years. His business partner had gifted it to him over some deal or another. I was a broke ass 20 year old father to be, whose only gun was a 10/22. I'd probably do it again tho.

Interesting topic. No regrets selling any of mine. My thought process of deciding what to sell does not happen overnight. Takes me several months, sometimes more than a year before I decide to let one go. I will say my old mil-spec 1911 Springfield in .45acp was a fun pistol to shoot. Easily replaceable, no regrets. Had it been a Colt.. maybe a different story.
 
I'm a collector, got my first rifle right when i turned 19. Was a run of the mill 1943 Izhevsk 91/30, got it when they were $100.

Sold it as the collection grew and ended up seriously regretting it for years. Thankfully, was friends with the guy I sold it to and he sold it back to me years later for the same amount. Has a permanent spot in the collection now!
 
I sold my first gun purchased as an adult, a GP100 in 1992 to my step dad, to fund the purchase of an Anaconda.

I bought the GP100 back 4-5 years ago. I don't feel I need to sell any firearms I've collected. I just need another safe. again soon. I figure my kids can sell them one day.
 
I've sold exactly 33 pistols and long guns over the years.

I regret:

H&K 45C - The best .45 Carry pistol ever (IMHO)
Glock 21 Gen4 - not sure why I regret selling a Glock. But that was the softest shooting .45 I've ever owned.
Dan Wesson VBOB - it was beautiful
RIA Tac Ultra CS - really hard to find in Cali
H&K P2000SK - instant regret. The small gun that shoots like a big gun.
Springfield Armory M1A SOCOM - Simply an awesome .308 rifle
