We shoot at Prado, SWPL and Pala. If you're ever looking to squad up
Private range in SylmarSouth OC also. I normally shoot NRA Highpower "service rifle" with Santa Margarita (Camp Pendleton) or Escondido Fish & Game. Starting to consider getting into IDPA and/or USPSA
Where does SWPL have their matches?
For all the SoCal USPSA matches, if you’re not on the sign up page on PractiScore exactly when the match opens, you’re likely not going to shoot. Especially LdF.I have tried to sign up for the last 4 LDF matches and they were completely full the morning registration opened. I'm on the wait list for this Sunday
you think learning to shoot fast and accurate under pressure is impractical? Learning to shoot is learning to shoot. You are definitely going to be better at any real life shooting by putting yourself under pressure during a match trying to be as efficient, accurate and controlled as possible. Like what's the alternative? any training you do is going to be shooting paper, unless you want to go get in real gunfights to practiceJohn wick style speed shooting seems impractical to me. So does the cmp games matches I've participated in prior at apple valley. I want to see those guys shoot without $500 shooting jackets! I'd be interested in 2 gun in socal, 3 gun as well. Most fun I've had was in Lucerne valley at the lions range, they had a shooting fun fair one year. The quick draw with .45's shooting cowboy action with wax slugs was a blast! I know they have monthly matches as well but never committed to buying my own.

It is literally called united states practical shooting !
From everything I’ve read, it’s highly encouraged for anyone interested in getting into competitive shooting. I assume all other spectators are welcome, too.Are spectators allowed at any of these matches?
Depends on the club, but generally yesAre spectators allowed at any of these matches?

how do you like the changeover in hosts? I heard there was some issue with Wednesday night steel so they kicked the old hostsMostly Prado, simply because it's the closest.![]()
WHAT?! I hadn’t heard about that. With work, I can never make it out to Wednesday night steel.how do you like the changeover in hosts? I heard there was some issue with Wednesday night steel so they kicked the old hosts

That said, I just looked at Practiscore. I still see lots of Wed Steel on the upcoming calendar.
Oh, I see. If I’m not mistaken, the new steel hosts are the same folks running the weekend USPSA matches. They’re quite good.yea , it's still running. just different people running it
