Which 9mm Pistol Has The Lowest Recoil? Glock, M&P, P320, 2011, P10F, PDP, VP

Measuring one element (angle) does not give you the whole picture. Fun video, I watch about half his stuff and he seems the least douche out of the larger firearms channels.

Now we need metal hammer fired video for 💩s n giggles.
 
For the 💩s and giggles, someone should create a gun that is:
- Full size all metal frame
- Short slide height and integrated into the frame (ie. CZ 75)
- Comped slide
- Rotating barrel (ie. PX4)

What else are we missing?

Not any metal frame, but steel frame. Steel beats aluminum in recoil mitigation.
Also, not sure how ported rotating barrel would work
 
My issue with this video is that he doesn't define what recoil means until the video starts (rather than putting it on the title or on the thumbnail). And his definition of recoil actually appears to be muzzle flip... rather than felt recoil or recoil impulse. More importantly, the problem with this test is that it only measures the maximum angle of muzzle rise but not what happens after... like how quickly the gun returns, whether it overshoots, or how it oscillates.

That's why a guns like the PDP or the VP9 can appear to show relatively high peak muzzle rise in this test while still shooting well at speed if they return quickly and predictably.

Right which is well explained within the video lol. It’s not an end all be all super scientific test which is clearly explained throughout

Because he's a clickbait youtuber and also it is being tested. Obviously human hands are not a vice with a meter attached to it however. It's an interesting data set not crazy lab testing. The 2011 tested by far the lowest. It's also why he did a bill drill with each gun.

But it actually isn't being tested. What he's demonstrating is the measured maximum angle of muzzle rise. He even mentions it at the end of the video lol.

I guess it's an interesting dataset but it isn't useful because it's incomplete. There are no conclusions you can draw from this data beyond "oh wow that gun rises a little more than that one". But what does that actually mean?

Isn’t the 2011 also the heaviest gun tested?

Slide mass would also be a factor, a heavier slide going back will lift the muzzle, and going forward into the front stop will pull the gun back down.

Cool video, I’ll probably watch it again, but it’s leaving a lot of factors unaccounted for. Bore axis, aka how much leverage the force applied gets on the pivot point, would be super easy to adjust..
