Curious what "crowd control" means and why a 1022 is better than your aforementioned AR?AR and Glock 17. If I had to pick 2. I'd also have something like a .22lr 10/22 if I could for pest/crowd control.

You must live in the city. I think the city folk population would suffer today more than the deer population if the SHTF. too many city slickers would come to the neck of the woods were the country folk live. I have to imagine it would not turn out well for the city slickersYou’re absolutely right. Look at how much the deer population suffered during the Great Depression era. We had way less pressure and population in our country at that time. Wildlife would be gone in a blink in true SHTF with a likely recovery time of decades.
But but but guntuber has never done a video on stupid air rifles!!!!!
Exactly, everyone expects to be the protagonist but it’s more likely be the extra laying on the side of the road. Why would it be reasonable to assume that bullets/boots/etc. would be left on corpses if they are the commodity by which trade is conducted in Scenario X? Capable friends and community are so much more important in this scenario than stressing about platform x or y.
trueI used to have that kind of style. Then I realized how cringe and tryhard it was. Now I still try to dress as practical as I can but I avoid anything with overt 2a, mma, or military branding. Even flags on sleeves is too much imo. And I have that inked on my arm right under where it lies on my uniform lol. But for civilian attire, hell nah. I keep my gun nut lifestyle to myself.
when I lived in cali there was no such thing as a compliant rifle. Not advocating breaking Cali law just never understood complying.I left all my non-compliant weapons outside of CA when I moved back here so my options if SHTF right now would be limited. If I was in a free state and had all my toys I'd have a different answer so I'll answer twice.
Right now, my choice from what I have available with me would be my trusty Norinco SKS and my Sig 220 Legion.
If I wasn't in a state like CA then absolutely my Sig 716i and a Sig 226 Legion.
I have lots of 556 guns but I like 308 mo bettah
Well, I suppose in a SHTF situation, if a crowd of people are coming at you, say looking for water/food) and you don't want to necessarily kill them, a shot or two from a .22lr may deter them. An AR might be too loud and your looking to not draw more attention. The IDF uses that method currently. https://frontierpartisans.com/31745/22-war/Curious what "crowd control" means and why a 1022 is better than your aforementioned AR?
ya I dont lobby with 98% of congress so I can't use IDF tactics lolWell, I suppose in a SHTF situation, if a crowd of people are coming at you, say looking for water/food) and you don't want to necessarily kill them, a shot or two from a .22lr may deter them. The CHP who told you “full auto” is a good indicator of that officer’s ignorance. Problem as I see it is that far too many LE folks are totally ignorant of so many things, yet they have some degree of power to really FUBAR a situation they know nothing about. Keeping LE away from one’s property is usually in the best interest of the owner.when I lived in cali there was no such thing as a compliant rifle. I remember once my son and his Afghan MP buddies came to my house and were bump firing ar's for an hour or so, the CHP shut our road down.
Neighbor called me up to let me know swat (it wasn't swat, just a bunch of sheriffs) was positioned at the bottom of the road, and told me that I better get home quick.
CHP was stationed at the entrance of the road (normally we can flash our ID since it is a major fire zone and gain entrance), and he told me that the road was closed. I asked why, he responded "people shooting guns", I told him it was legal out here, and he told me "full auto".
Anyhoo, called my son up, and he drove and met about 20 sheriffs going up the wrong driveway and explained the situation, and they opened up the road.
Watching them come down the wrong driveway with shotguns and pistols made me laugh. How would they compete against "full auto"?
In a TEOTWAWKI scenario, having the flexibility of being able to use multiple calibers is key in the long run. Maybe this is cheating, but I'd grab a 40cal Glock and bring some 9mm mags and a 9mm conversion barrel. And then similarly I'd grab an AR, 22LR converison kit, plus 9mm and 7.62x39 mags, and BCGs, barrels, and buffers to support all of them. Between 22LR, 9mm, 40, 223, and 7.62x39 I should have coverage for all the most popular calibers other than 45, 308, and revolver calibers.
You'll be moving by vehicle, I assume. Seems like a lot of weight. In a TEOTWAWKI scenario, having the flexibility of being able to use multiple calibers is key in the long run. Of course. You guys don't keep an APC in your backyard just in case?
