Identify yourself.

My build is:

both barrels
Front sight (secretly hoping for an adjustable rear sight plate down the road for bullseye)
machined grip module
panels
nitrided black
medium mag release
Rmr/sro slick
comp magwell.

Oh interesting I guess they are doing sse

Cost Analysis

4900 base gun plus all extras was 850 dual barrel 100 machined grip module 60 machine grip panels.

Gun: 5910
TAX: 592
SINTAX: 600
KOVERT SSE: 1000( I think this is excessive)

All in 8150ish

Whats an Atlas cost these days? 7?

Waltz I get two barrels, glock mags and no BS hand fitting anything. If i need a Part its drop in.

They are very interesting. I feel like they won't stay at that price for long once they are actually in production

For that configuration I do not think the price will drop. for a polymer grip/panels and shorter barrel and slide I could see the price dropping. But at that weight for me Id be rolling gen6 glocks.

Oh no I think it will get more expensive, I think they are underestimating their cost of production. But we will see. It's interesting how much hype they have before even being in production. They seem great but time will tell when they are making them as fast as possible and not as a custom prototype. I like the zermatt boot action I have a lot.

Pretty sure they have production cost and machine time nailed down. Quite a few guns have been out there in the wild for a long time now. I think this is the best pre launch assessment and feedback loop I have ever seen rolled out. But yes time will tell. Ill know if I blew my wad for nothing soon enough.

@RustVendor — I thought you were implying a drop at first as well. Good clarification.

I’ve not seen any manufacturer drop prices in the recent history. If anything inflation, cost of living, materials, and taxes are pretty much guaranteed to go up. Makes me feel like anyone buying now is “getting it while it’s cheap”

There was an interview with the designer only like a month or so ago and he said they were still figuring out production. all the guns out there aren't part of a production line they are custom prototype made one by one. Im certainly not saying they will have quality issue but I would be surprised if they didn't end up being more expensive. Nothing is ever as cheap as you price it out to be especially when you are starting from scratch. But we will see definitely one of the most interesting projects in a long time.

Snagged one early into the pre-order. Dual barrel setup as well but went with the standard magwell and slick slide and optic plate as it'll be a CO gamer gun after the second batch hits.

Yah ... the Kovert SSE add-on is kind of a slap in the face. I wonder if Zermatt knows how many other high-end FFLs can and would do it for less, but I don't think they care too much as it's not tied to the cost of their product from the factory.

That being said, I don't think it'll be hard to recoup costs or make a small profit even after all of this once it becomes the king of Carry Optics after its approval. Having shot it side by side with various 2011s and fully customized CZ Shadow 2s, no contest this thing is better, in my opinion, than anything below around an Atlas or MPA and noticeably better than the Shadow 2s.

I don't think the standard magwell is legal for carry optics. It can't flare at all outside the frame,

It's not. They're coming out with something that meets the definition but doesn't leave the bottom of the grip bare. The gun is fine without a magwell too, but it just looks unfinished if you leave it off.

We are talking about quite possibly the finest production gun ever made. USA made at that.

I hope this gun just makes uspsa realize that carry optics needs to either be combined with LO or redefined to not allow de facto race guns. It's never been more obvious that the rules are arbitrary than with the waltz 9

I went comp so I can get this one later. Figured the middle ground was a waste.
