Who got in on the Zermatt Waltz 9 Pre-order?

Except the part where you can’t shoot it because the trigger broke and trying to fix it voids the warranty. Hopefully they make plenty of triggers or make them high enough quality for this not to be a problem
The T&E guns seem to hold up really well to high round counts - though not all of them are the same as what's being produced in the first batch. The tolerances have been loosened, I'm going to use that phrase despite Dave not liking that language, to increase reliability when dirty and not lubed.

The side benefit of this is I'd love to see this kind of high quality design make its way in the following years to more large manufacturers of polymer striker fired guns.

Also for whatever its worth, their Warranty is: If it has Zermatt on it, they will take care of it.

People need to accept that some tolerances should actually be a little looser. There's a video from Atlas where Adam is kind of lamenting tight tolerances and basically says he prefers his guns looser for reliability but the market has decided that tight fit 2011s are what's best. as long as you have a relatively tight barrel lock up almost nothing else actually matters

I think for most people 100% they won't notice the difference.

I'm currently waiting on a full rebuild from Eric Mercier on a new carry gun using an aluminum Atlas frame. It'll be totally rebuilt to marvel spec with accurails and a dual barrel cone comp and sight block setup and probably be insanely tight. I'm curious to see how it handles to not being cleaned in 1-2k rounds at a time.

I actually disliked some of my old infinities for the break in process. They didn't shoot noticeably better than other high end 2011s I owned, even if they were visually pretty cool.

only one way to find out gotta pressure test that thing haha

The accurails make me much more inclined to run the absolute 💩 out of it as it’s now a steel slide on steel rails rather than steel on aluminum and you can fit larger rails if you burn through 50-100k rounds on the lifetime of the aluminum gun. It should come in around 26-28 ish ounces so still heavy enough to shoot a match with without issue but also good for carry and perfect for some defensive oriented classes.

I wanted to see if the juice was worth the squeeze before going for a full custom from Charyn or Mercier next time their books open up. Infinity never gave me what I wanted, so I had to find someone who would. Fingers crossed!

Cost Analysis

4900 base gun plus all extras was 850 dual barrel 100 machined grip module 60 machine grip panels.

Gun: 5910
TAX: 592
SINTAX: 600
KOVERT SSE: 1000( I think this is excessive)

All in 8150ish

Whats an Atlas cost these days? 7?

Waltz I get two barrels, glock mags and no BS hand fitting anything. If i need a Part its drop in.
1000 SSE!!?!? Screw that. Hard pass on a pistol that doesn’t have much of a track record.

Yah, the barrels aren't fitted so it should be plug and play. I liked the sightblock version a lot and it compared well to the comp (especially when just shooting normal minor PF ammo or just factory loads like S&B 124 FMJ).

I just assumed it would be easier to get a hold of a spare upfront rather than have to compete for spare stock as they start selling the next batch. Plus the whole needing to go back to an FFL for the spare barrel.
Smart move and reasoning

I wonder why 2A Zone wasn’t considered as another option for us consumers
Maybe later. with only 250 on the first run NATIONWIDE not sure how many are actually coming into CA. Per This thread at least two accounted for.

I ordered the 2 tone, standard barrel, grip tape grips and panels, no sites, atandard magwell, and short flat trigger. Didn’t expect Kovert to have such an extreme SSE fee, but not much we can do. Going to sell my like new P and my 5” m&p to offset.

Where do you think you fell in terms of your place in line of the 250? I have to imagine the first few were bots, although maybe the website issue slowed them down. It took me a minute to bother to try the adding another item to checkout workaround.

It’s hard to say because I ran into an issue when trying to check out. It kept telling me I didn’t select a shipping method. Apparently others had this issue. When I finally got my payment processed, I signed back on and went through the process again just to see what the stock levels were. It was 89 at that point so I’m assuming I’m somewhere around the 150-161 mark of the 250. They confirmed with me that they will fill orders in the same order that they were received as well.

Oh yah, that's a good reminder I should ask them to remove the spare item I checked out with just to get around that shipping issue.

LOL, that stupid bug kept popping up and I tried for a good 10 minutes to do all kinds of stuff before I thought to just try adding another item to see. If not for that I might have been able to grab one of the first five. As it is, I think I'm in the first 20-30 based on what I saw once I added a new item to my cart again to see stock levels. A lot of people seemed to have given up once they ran into the issue so I think we got pretty lucky.
